The Extratour Bickener Ritterspuren picks up on the approximately 600-year-old history of the Lords of Bicken. It's been so long since they left their headquarters in the Aar Valley, and yet there are still traces of their several hundred years of presence everywhere.

From the hiking portal of the Lahn-Dill-Bergland in Bicken on the district road to Eisemroth, the route goes steeply uphill until you reach the "Rudolfshain" vantage point. From here, the hiker has a wonderful view towards Greifenstein and the Aartal villages of Bicken and Ballersbach. It continues to "Onkel Toms Hütte" a pretty shelter hut at the "Ställchen" and then into the Nonnbachtal, which you follow downhill until you cross the district road 3050. Now the path leads slightly uphill to the Bickener refuge, where there are nice places to rest again and also a nicely laid out children's playground. Initially level, then slightly downhill and then uphill again to get to "Eiternhöll", the path leads past idyllic pastures. After the last hill of the circular route, there is now a fantastic view of Bicken, where the circular route ends past the "Bickener Bär" and back at the hiking portal. In the four hours specified in the hiking atlas, you can easily complete the circular route twice, but you should reckon with a walking time of 1.5 - 2 hours. A geocache mullet is hidden on or along the circular route, which you can log from the hiking atlas when walking the track clockwise. Source: www.ich-geh-wandern.de
Before I start my night shift over the weekend, I wanted to go for a short tour and take advantage of the 40cm of fresh snow for some beautiful winter panoramas. No sooner said than done, things were packed, the new hiking poles were inaugurated and off we went. From my planned tours, I chose these from the “Lahn-Dill-Bergland Nature Park” collection. However, given the current weather conditions, you should be in good shape and take decent hiking boots and, if necessary, hiking poles. Have fun following along and have a nice weekend ❄️
The extra tour of knight tracks of the Lahn-Dill-Berglandpfad was our goal today. After a fairly steep ascent, a beautiful hike through forest and meadows awaited us. A quiet route where you can enjoy nature. At around 8 km a good choice for a Sunday afternoon. The route rewards hikers with beautiful views. Benches along the route invite you to have a snack. We liked it again.
Not a highlight, but pleasant to walk. Finding a parking space near the trail sign is a disaster.
Since rain is forecast for this afternoon, only a short tour.
At 19°- 22° I ran the Bickener Ritterspuren again, the last km with light water cooling from above 😉
Today we were out and about in Mittenaar again, following in the footsteps of the "von Bicken" family. This extra tour provided a beautiful path with beautiful views. The actual circuit is 7.87 km long - like on the "50 Years of Mittenaar" anniversary trail, we parked in the parking lot at the town hall, so we added a little bit. Unfortunately, this tour took place without Fiete! He is injured and had to stay at home! See you soon, your Bruno 🐾🐾 https://naturpark.lahn-dill-bergland.de/wandern/extratouren/bickener-ritterspuren/
