This route was planned by komoot.
I walked this route in early March. The altitude can be mastered easily with good footwear, although a few walking sticks are particularly helpful when descending. The tour is highly recommended at this time because of the Märzenbecher blossom. The tree sponges, the moss-covered stones and the basalt formations overgrown with lichens are very beautiful. At this time of year you will be rewarded with a wonderful view from a well-positioned bench of the Dammersfeld, the Eierhauck and the Auersberge. There are some gaps in the signage, but “komoot” always directs you to the right path. So it is recommended - to see the above-mentioned basalt formation, to take a short detour (about 5 minutes) from the path. All in all, this tour is highly recommended and I would be curious to see how the tour performs in summer or fall.
