Or even the discovery of slowness?! 🥹 After a two-week doctor-orthopedist-MRT-nice-to-stay-at-home marathon, the first attempt to walk is planned today. It's best to be at ground level without going downhill (that's not so good 🥵 and only uphill, how do I get back down 😳). What's better than the moor?! 😃 and finally again, after more than four weeks, in the Rhön 😍. Met two well-known Komootlers right at the beginning, Carmen & Michael. Glad to see us and chatted (they both have a holiday today 😃). The round in the moor was really nice, but so short 🙈. A quick thought about the ice ditch water... but no, that should be enough for today. Nothing like breaking your knee while we're back on the topic 😝. Another sausage and a spritzer and off we go home. I think another Komootler 🚴🏼♂️ will come today and pay a sick visit 😄. It was nice to be back in the Rhön and it felt good. There's something else going on... 🥳🙃🙋🏻♀️
After changing the tires in the deepest Rhön fog at 5 °, the tires were also run in. Up to the Rhön the 🌫️immer was sealed, but shortly before the Sennhütte the 🌫️ suddenly thinned and there was glorious sunshine 🌞. So I stopped at black moor and went on a short autumn hike in the sunshine 🌞. It was nice 😁
A "must-see" in the Rhön. Many visitors end up getting lost on the beautifully laid out boardwalk. You can see lots of flowers and protected plants here. The very small ones are particularly fascinating! It is really "boggy" near the Moorauge, where there are the fewest stunted moor pines. There are certainly visitors who walk the 3km or so in 45 minutes. But they didn't see the sundew or the swarming bee colony either.
In the morning there was still fog in the valley - then in the Hochrhön the most beautiful sunshine - that's what Sunday can be like! Today "only" a short walk through the wonderful black moor was possible, but in fantastic late autumn weather. The variety of colors of the mosses and lichens was a feast for the eyes. It is simply beautiful up here in every season. Unfortunately they are closing the moor path due to slippery conditions and ice from around 15.11 to around 15.03. Before you go home, a delicious (or two) Thuringian sausages is a must 😋. We always mischievously call the 3-country corner of Hesse/Thuringia/Bavaria the 3 sausage corner 😄. Have fun and enjoy your meal. Best wishes from Hilli & Angi
Beautiful! There is a circular path over wooden planks, which is equipped with information boards. Also ideal for families and people with wheelchairs/rollators. The path could have been much longer in my opinion 😊
Very beautiful moor landscape with great vegetation, such as cotton grass, heather and the small rustic moor pines. Information boards along a new boardwalk invite you to study nature. 🌱🌾🪷
Typical continuous drizzle rainy weather when visiting the Black Moor nature trail. So pretty much alone on the road. Highly Recommended
Today we went to the Black Moor in the Rhön. I didn't know this moor yet and was very impressed by the flora (I saw sundew - wild carnivorous plants - here for the first time) - and by the austere beauty of this raised moor. Thomas says that we definitely have to come back here in the autumn when the birch leaves turn yellow. That must be even more impressive then.
