🥵 The heat wave is here and while my mtb is resting at the maintenance shop, I decided to hike around my town's backyard. 🏞 La Casella holds plenty of trails and gravel roads that you can combine as you pleased making every tour different than the previous one. This time I decided to visit the "l'Ouet" viewpoint and "Cova de La Galera". The first one, an igloo shape construction at 525 m asl with astonishing views towards Casella valley and to the Mediterranean coastline from Tavernes to Cullera and beyond! The second, an enormous cave formed by erosion over thousands of years where there have been signs of civilization dated back to 3000 years BC 😳. ⛰ Undoubtedly you'll get the best views from the top. In this opportunity at the top of "la Ratlla" at 625 m asl with amazing 360 deg views! As mentioned before, you can choose your path from several alternatives and I picked to go back to the starting point walking the gravel road that's familiar to me as I mtb there quite often. But my curiosity keeps me always searching for more so I took an extra detour hiking down the Simeta trail to reach La Garrofera water fountain and take one last break and cool down a bit with the fresh water and shadow. 💦 With no water fountain along the way, temperatures rising above 35 C and my "on-the-go" decision to extend the original plan, 3 lts of water were just enough for the entire ride...and I would've felt better with an extra lt. ⚠️ Don't underestimate the heat and plan your tour wisely researching beforehand if there will be fountains were you can refill, if not, take no less than 2-3 lts of water. Your body will need more than usual with high temperatures! 😎 Enjoy the summer wherever it finds you!!!
The track, incomprehensibly, stopped recording for a while. In any case, it is not an impediment to following the route, since there are no doubts about following it. This area is very beautiful, and there are many possibilities for different routes.
