Hiking

The alpine hike from Baris to Purcs takes you to the so-called "Strudeltöpfe" (whirlpools) on Alp Mora. Spectacular views, exciting hiking trails, some of which are secured with ropes, and perhaps a whistle from a marmot await you if you cool off in the ice-cold water of the "Strudeltöpfe".

Trail Reviews

Karin
July 27, 2024, 🇨🇭 Alp Mora - Bargis

I thought long and hard about whether I should really do this tour. The shuttle bus only runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays and then only at 8, 12 and 4 p.m. In addition, depending on the app, the weather forecast for the afternoon was quite uncertain, which is not ideal for such a late start (bus arrival at 12.30 p.m. - I would have had to skip breakfast for the 8 a.m. shuttle, which was out of the question 😉). Luckily I decided to go for it! The glacier mills are impressive and well visited. You can actually bathe in them. Only a few people then took the panoramic path to Bargis. Accompanied by very impressive views, lots of flowers and a few marmots, it goes up and down. The paths are great, very varied and sometimes exposed. So a head for heights is an advantage and surefootedness is essential, as always with T2/T3. After the heavily swaying bridge, it goes steeply downhill. I don't normally like that, but I found it easy to do here. It's best to reserve the shuttle bus to Alp Mora in advance (10 francs with guest card; 30 minutes). A post bus runs from Bargis to Fidaz Waldrand every half hour. The 10 minutes cost 5.10 francs... The next post bus is waiting there and from there you can travel for free with your guest card.
