A super nice, tough tour in great weather over the Steinacher Ache to Bärenmoos and then over the Himmelreich back to Pfronten 😏
A moderately difficult tour that does what the name promises. I started the truly heavenly tour at the parking lot near the Pfronten spa park. Along the idyllic Vilstal you soon go uphill to the “Himmelreich” on Kienberg. If you look to the left and right despite the steep climb (17%), you will almost feel like you are in a fairy or fairytale forest thanks to the natural forest floor, which is largely overgrown with moss. Further up you reach the extensive mountain meadows where the Allgäu brown cattle graze in the summer months - an encounter with the cattle, which are used to hikers and bikers, is almost unavoidable. The rustic Bärenmoosalpe invites you to take a welcome break. The heavenly name - the address of the alpine hut is "Himmelreich 1" - suggests that hikers and bikers can look forward to an idyllic place in the Allgäu mountains. After a well-fortified snack, the path leads through the Achtal back to Pfrontenn, the starting point of the heavenly and fairytale nature bike tour, where you should take time for the beautiful moments along the route.
Had to carry a lot of bike. Downhill is a bit difficult. 🙂Nevertheless had fun 😃
