This short, cross-border tour is packed with highlights. Even the starting point in Füssen is fantastic and the first few kilometers, which are still flat, lead along the beautiful Alatsee. When it's warm, it's worth cooling off with a view of the Tegelberg - but you can save the bathing…

Very nice round trip to the Vilser Alm. (Please note, only open until October 20th, 2024) Fantastic route, especially in autumn when the many deciduous trees show their autumn leaves 🍂🍁. Past the Alatsee over a small border crossing to Vils in 🇦🇹. From Vils there is a 3km forest road with a 5 - 19% gradient to the Vilser Alm. There is very tasty food there!
Despite the questionable weather, I wanted to do a little something. When you're already off (short...) and have no appointments. 😁🤪 It was interesting how quickly we alternated between sun, clouds, downpours, wind, and back again today. 🙃 No matter. Saddled up our mountain bikes🚲 and off we went. Through Füssen toward Bad Faulenbach and always up to the Alatsee. We circled around to the right and over the gap to Vils. Then up the forest path to the Vilser Alm.🥵 Always beautiful, but also quite tiring.🫠 At the top, we rode a bit past the Alm and then parked. Continue with Part 2 of the bike and hike.😃
After the short but challenging mountain hike, I got back on my bike for the ride home. It's simply fantastic to be able to hop on my bike after a mountain hike and whizz down into the valley. 👍🚵♂️💪 It's just a shame that I chose to return via Alatsee, which meant I had to make a bit of a trek up the mountain. 🥵🤪💪🚵♂️ Then from Alatsee, I took the paved road down into the valley to Füssen and then the Panzerstraße road to the boat harbor, the end of the tour.
