This route was planned by komoot.
Maybe someone would like to write whether they, as a cyclist who is unfamiliar with the area, still follow signs, or use them as a support, or are "just" guided by komoot etc. The signage system is largely uniform across the country and I think that's good - but it is also complex in various respects and there are apparently more and more reckless, destructive idiots whose intellectual level is expressed, for example, in sticking important messages like "Ultra Fans FC Gedöns" on signs. This causes a huge amount of unnecessary work for the municipalities and annoyance for users! (I am well aware that of course only the komoot faction among cyclists will read this and those who still mainly follow signs and paper maps cannot comment here)
Today in the best cycling weather (25° C🌤) through the Kocher and Brettachtal. Beautiful route with some climbs, which were rewarded with great views, through meadows and fields 🌾 (everything has already been mowed) and past small vineyards. Small, picturesque villages and towns along the way. At the end of the tour, a visit to the idyllic Saline beer garden 🍺🍺🍔🍟.
The KJ2 tour is an advertised and signposted regional tour in the Heilbronn region. We started from Neuenstadt-Stein against the direction of the Kocher river (i.e. RIGHT of the Kocher😂) - Kochertürn - Bürg - Gochsen - in Kochersteinsfeld over the bridge and left along the Kocher back to Gochsen. Left over the mountain "up" to Brettach - Cleversulzbach - Neuenstadt - Brambacher Hof - Amorbach - Plattenwald - Kochendorf - Jagstfeld - Hagenbach - and right of the Kocher to Oedheim and back to Stein. Great tour, with great towns that are really worth taking a leisurely stroll through. Unfortunately, the KJ2 badges are very sparingly placed - without Komoot we would have lost our way 🙈...most of the time the route went along the normal cycle path sign...which could lead us anywhere though.......
With Lars we first took the train to Bad Friedrichshall. And there we cycled this round in very warm weather. At the end we fortified ourselves in the Salinen beer garden. Description follows: A particularly varied tour through the wine and meadow landscape at Kocher and Brettach. On the Kochertal Regiotour you drive through the valleys of Kocher, Jagst and Brettach, past vineyards and orchards - always in view of the foothills of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park. The start is in Bad Friedrichshall-Jagstfeld. You have to “cycle” some hills. But then you can let yourself be captivated by the magic of the region. This bike tour takes you through a largely natural landscape that is based on the Kocher and lets you explore the picturesque towns and villages along the way. Here you can stop off in Stein am Kocher, Brettach, Hardthausen and Neuenstadt am Kocher, among others, to refresh your strength. Your journey of discovery takes you to Cleversulzbach to the Mörike Museum. It is located in the old schoolhouse near the church and is reminiscent of Eduard Mörike's time in this district of Neuenstadt am Kocher. The final resting place of Mörike and Friedrich Schiller's mothers is also in Cleversulzbach.

Start at Küffner Hof after a hearty lunch. Another glass of wine halfway along the route 🍷 at the Friedauer winery in Bad Friedrichshall before we went back. great tour
See the Heilbronner Land Tourist Board or https://www.heilbronnerland.de/tour/kj2-regiotour-kochertal. My route today isn't suitable for retracing, as I only checked the remaining signage yesterday and therefore shortened the route. Overall, a lovely tour for this time of year. Anyone interested in E. Mörike, in addition to cycling, can learn more about his life and work in Cleversulzbach. In Brettach, a very short detour leads to a model railway in a private garden. Always worth a visit for "freaks" and children.
