Alexandra
August 21, 2022, Wiesensteig in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach - eine Tour für "Genusssucher"

Today we were on the beautiful Wiesensteig in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach. The starting point is the Weiherplatz hiking car park. From here it goes straight down to the wild Rench and always upstream over hill and dale. Very nice start, because you have to cross the Rench again and again. The path is not accessible at high tide, and should be used with caution after heavy rain. In between there are long passages with wide forest paths and sometimes a piece of road, but also always beautiful views of the valley. On the way back, the path really surprises again with a climb. 🤩 There are three gas stations along the way, I strongly recommend the raspberry liqueur at the second. 🤤 Possibility to stop at the Renchtalhütte and about 1km before the car park in the Herbstwasen inn. There is also a drinks fridge for self-service. A very nice and quiet tour with great weather and good company. 😊

Hiking on the Wiesensteig Trail – Pure Black Forest Idyll Today we set out to explore the Wiesensteig Trail near Bad Peterstal-Griesbach – a circular hike that rewarded us with everything that makes the Black Forest so special. Our starting point was the idyllically situated Renchtalhütte, from where we set off in perfect hiking weather. The sun shone from a blue sky, and after just a few meters, it became clear: today would be a special day of hiking. The Wiesensteig Trail lives up to its name. The trail winds through flower-rich meadows blooming in all colors – a true feast for the senses. Between fragrant grasses and buzzing bees, breathtaking views of the gently rolling hills of the Black Forest repeatedly opened up. The trail is varied and at the same time pleasant to walk. Sometimes it leads through sparse forest, sometimes across open plateaus – always accompanied by the calming silence of nature and the sweeping view over green valleys and wooded mountain ridges. Anyone who wants to experience the Black Forest in all its originality will find exactly what makes the hiker's heart beat faster here: pure nature, peace and quiet, and a landscape like something out of a picture book.

Hello there 🙋 today we went on another hike 🤩 along the Wiesensteig 🌸 starting at the train station 🚉 Bad Griesbach. It went really well straight away 🥵but it was still cloudy ☁️and pleasantly cool 😄I reached the idyllic place Kirchberg, from here the Wiesensteig is well signposted 👍it continues on beautiful paths with a view of Dollenberg 👀I soon came past the first drinks fountain 😁I had beautiful views again and again, ran through the magical forest 🌳 over wild root paths and looked for the way in the moss-covered stone field ☺️it was just great 🤩 then I came out at the Gasthaus Herbstwasen, now it went along the wild Rench, yes really wild 😁later I had to change sides several times, to do this I crossed the stream over large stones 🪨a little adventure 🤭I was able to enjoy everything alone, no one was around 🤣I then passed the Fischfelsenhütte, Brandkopfhütte (no photo ☹️) We passed the Renchtalhütte (with restaurant) and the Habererhütte ☺️before we went back to the train station 🚉 the Mex was already there 😉 There were many different types of paths, some in the shade, some in the sun ☀️it was just lovely again 🤩 Have a lovely evening and best wishes 🙋 also from Öpchen 🙋‍♂️

I took over the tour from Komoot user @JürgenWo (his tour here https://www.komoot.de/tour/217703301), thanks. We also started at the Weiherplatz hiking car park, where there is also a nice barbecue area. You often walk through the forest or along the edge of the forest, but also often in the sun. So it's better to start the tour early on hot days 😉. There are always benches/loungers along the way. And with restaurants, beer fountains, self-service refrigerators and mineral water fountains, thirst quenchers are also catered for. The tour is easy to walk, it is easily doable for people who do not have a head for heights and children (with the right level of fitness).

The Wiesensteig offers a natural symphony for all the senses. From the rushing streams to diverse scenic impressions to culinary delights along the way, everything is there. The numerous rest areas and sky benches with wonderful views invite you to take a short break. The drinking fountains along the trail offer well-deserved refreshments. The Wiesensteig starts at Weiherplatz in Bad Griesbach at an altitude of 650 meters. From there, it continues along the Wilde Rench to the Renchtalhütte, before descending again via impressive mountain meadow paths, over the Breitenberg and along the Haberer Hütte. The final section leads over the heights of the "Wilde Rench" past the Herbstwasen mountain inn and back to Weiherplatz.

Brilliant tour on mostly beautiful paths. The wild Rench is also an experience in itself. Great views 🤩 Highly recommended!!

This trail is one of the few that I don't like at all. Today's trail paid me back for that, because I was constantly complaining. Karma, that's all. ;) I did it years ago. With me in my "baggage" were a few grumpy children and a few adults who weren't in a better mood. One of my children even got blisters at the time, so we had to take turns carrying the child. So it's a trail with unpleasant memories. Today I wanted to do it again, but in the recommended direction. What nonsense! If anyone wants to do it, please go in the opposite direction. It's better to do the boring part at the end of the tour than the other way around. It's better for the knees because of the steep sections. At least one of us was satisfied. Moose (Swedish for elk) was also carried around. ;)

Nice walk along the Wilde Rench (stream), meadows and through quiet forests. The surface of the paths is alternately gravel, roots, large stones, small stones, forest paths.
