If you want to experience the authenticity of the Black Forest, Sulzkar is the right place for you. A hike through this natural idyll is always special - huge and impressive rock formations line the path through the forest. The cirque is around 12,000 years old and offers spectacular views of the landscape.

Speaking of idyll – the Lautenhofweiher at the beginning of the tour and the way back along the Rollwasser are also perfect to round off the hiking experience.

If your stomach is growling, we recommend a detour to the well-known Grünhütte with the even more famous blueberry pancakes. Danger! There's a lot going on here, especially when the weather is good and on the weekends!

Green Hut

The green hut was extended for the year 2018, when I was there in May, the work was almost completed. Looks great!

Highly recommended are the pancakes, other dishes are also delicious. The portions are large, so perfect for active people. After 40 kilometers and 1,200 vertical meters MTB have given me the Maultaschen new energy for the rest of the tour.

In good weather, waiting times must be expected. 😉

To celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, we hiked to the Grünhütte today. From Lautenhof to Sulzkar, across the Wannenebene and the Schäfferweghütte to the Grünhütte. We had two blueberry wines and a blueberry cake to fortify ourselves. We returned via the Rollwasserweg.

Nice hike, the first few kilometers are easy to climb 😉👆, especially on the forest path to the Suzklar formations.
