Let yourself be enchanted by the village of goblins! Achouffe is located in the Val de Fay and on the Martin Moulin and Chevral streams and is one of the most charming villages in Belgium. At the confluence of the two waterways, near the bridge, the fish farm "Pisciculture Domaniale" was founded.
Achouffe is known for its brewery, among other things. The Chouffe beer brewed here is brewed only with water from the Cedrogne spring, which gives it its unique taste.
Do you know the goblin legend? According to legend, these dwarf figures from the Ardennes lived in a cave (the "Trou des Nutons" on the Route de La Roche in Houffalize) and had a tunnel that ran between Taverneux and Sommerain to the Notre-Dame de Fôret chapel. At night, they repaired the residents' shoes, which is why Houffalize became known as the city of goblins. The legend originates from 1807, when two deserters fled to the town and sought shelter in a cave. They were shoemakers. At night, the local residents would put their torn shoes and food at the entrance to the cave and find them repaired the next morning.
After the tour, you can stop off at the brewery's tavern.

Very nice tour through the Ardennes. The last third of the route is very difficult due to heavy rain and wind throws. The route can hardly be seen in places. High shoes are recommended and you should be sure-footed. In terms of landscape, however, this piece in particular is very attractive.
Very beautiful but difficult/slightly dangerous in some places. Still a beautiful walk and I will definitely do it again
Had a wonderful weekend with my sports club and ended with a nice walk in Achouffe.
Enjoy playing clay along the Ruisseau Moulin Martin, thanks to the beavers and of course the wet weather. This bank is difficult to navigate in winter after a wet period, but very nice!
Today we went looking for fairies and gnomes in Achouffe. A beautiful and adventurous walk written by Pasar. The picturesque village of Achouffe, part of Houffalize, is hidden deep in the 'Fairy Valley', which, according to legend, is also home to gnomes. We did not encounter any gnomes but enjoyed the beautiful fairy valley to the full. The walk was quite adventurous and at times tough: many hiking trails were 'absorbed' by the water, so we had to look for alternatives: make a bridge yourself with tree trunks, climb over the rocks, occasionally walk through the water,...
