This route was planned by komoot.
Only across from Schweringen did we see that the ferry does not run on public holidays. So on to Hoya. It was great weather for the end of October.
Today, the weather forecast was good, so we headed straight to the starting point in Hoya, by car of course. From the start, we set off on the Weser Cycle Path towards Bücken. And, as expected, with a headwind. It's not so bad with an electric drive. In Bücken, you can admire the former collegiate church with its beautiful nave. Afterwards, we continued on the Weser Cycle Path through the villages, in glorious weather, to Marklohe. Instead of following the Weser Cycle Path directly to Nienburg, we continued in a wide arc via Lemke on the "Linden Route" and the wonderful nature trails near Oyle to Nienburg. There, we had planned to cross the Weser on the Wesertor Bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. Unfortunately, the bridge was closed for renovation work. So, off we went to the next bridge, with corresponding deviations from the planned route. We gathered a few impressions in the village and then headed back to Hoya on the old Weser Cycle Path. But now with a tailwind, that was quite pleasant. There's not much more to talk about here, just a lot of nature, just like on the outward journey, with vast, agricultural areas where geese and other animals thrive. I did the same at home, but not with greens, but with coffee and cake.
Start and finish: Hoya, Famila grocery store car park On farm roads along the Weser, past the Sebbenhausen lock and the Marina Mehlbergen campsite, under the Weser bridge to the Nienburg harbor. From here, past several rest areas, always along the Weser via Drakenburg to Hoya. The special thing about this tour: Paths that are easy to drive (almost all asphalt), hardly any car traffic, often a beautiful view of the Weser. Tip: If you are looking for an easy-to-drive tour with an unobstructed view of the Weser, meadows and fields then you should do this tour!
Start in Nienburg along the Weser on the Weserwall (Stockturm - formerly a prison) through the Lemker Marsch (with industrial railway embankment with brick arches) to the Sebbenhausen lock. Beautiful sections of the route with lots of nature and the Weser within easy reach. Break in Hoya (castle, dwarf fountain, Weser bridges in brilliant blue). Return through the Drakenburger Marsch. Return parallel to the Weser on well-signposted paths (cobblestones in between, eel shocker on the Weser). Finally, return through the old town of Nienburg (half-timbered houses, Lower Saxony Police Museum).
Along or on the Weser Cycle Path ... Let's see what has changed over time. Definitely have an ice cream in Hoya. The Drakenburg route along the Weser, simply idyllic, the Drakenburg manor has been a highlight in the area for several years. There is a café there on weekends. The stay at the Schweringen ferry ... you can watch a lot. At the church in Schweringen on the other side of the Weser ... here you are caught up with contemporary history, which caused a sensation: swastikas were found on the bell, so it was a bell consecrated during the Nazi era. After long pros and cons, the engraving of unknowns was thrown away overnight.
A lovely ride on the Weser Cycle Path, although often away from the Weser River. It was exactly 65 km. Unfortunately, I finished the tour a bit too late.
A wonderful round trip that shows why the Weser Cycle Path is one of the most popular cycle paths in Germany. Fantastic paths through nature that lead close to the Weser to Nienburg and back to Hoya. The absolute highlight is the old town of Nienburg and this visit was definitely not the last time.
fantastic weather and a wonderful round trip from Hoya to the right of the Weser (seen from Bremen) and back on the other side. This tour is absolutely awesome and is one of my TOP five.
