Today we started our first tour in the Harz for this year and collected stamps number 1 and 169. Light drizzle from above and plenty of water from below accompanied us. Part of the route was asphalt, the natural paths were great.
After some back and forth, we finally set off on a little hike this morning 🥾...it's so cold 🥶. Our destination was the Radau Waterfall near Bad Harzburg...rumor had it that it was almost completely frozen. So we bundled up and off we went 🚗. I think the pictures speak for themselves 😍 what a sight! The whole hike had a bit of a Scandinavian feel. Winter ❄️ is great when it's sunny and dry. Today was the first time I voluntarily used my hiking poles. It's so tiring 😰 marching uphill in the snow...three steps forward, two steps back. But it was beautiful...still, I'm ready for spring now 💐😜.
A wonderful tour in autumn. The paths were easy to walk on and brightly colored. We also had beautiful views of the Brocken, the Eckertal and Bad Harzburg. At the Molkenhaus we were able to fortify ourselves with buttermilk and currrywurst / french fries.
Small stamp tour in the Harz: Start at the Radau waterfall, steeply uphill in serpentines, past Wintersteinklippe and Rudolfklippe to Molkenhaus (HWN 169). After a short refreshment, it continued through the Eckertal valley to the Eckertalsperre (HWN1) and from there back to the parking lot. Beautiful and varied paths.
From the hiking car park at the Radau waterfall, the trail initially goes uphill along Radau and Lehnbach. Shortly after the Luisenbank, the Eckertalsperre appears and there is a wonderful view of the Brocken. Stamp 1 of the HWN is located behind the dam. Through the beautiful Eckertal, the trail goes up the Braunschweiger Weg to the Hasselteich and Molkenhaus, where stamp 169 of the HWN is located. The trail leads past the Rudolfklippe and Winterbergklippe back to the Radau waterfall.
