This route was planned by komoot.
During our previous stays in the Rhön, we had not yet had the chance to visit one of the moors. We wanted to change that today. The weather forecast was promising: sun, clouds and around 23 degrees. Rain showers or thunderstorms were not expected until the afternoon. We set off from the 'Schwarzes Moor' car park and went on a lovely, easy hike in a special landscape. There were quite a few people out and about, especially on the wooden plank path that leads through the moor, but that didn't bother us. The moor is worth seeing with its variety of plants. Numerous information boards provide information on pretty much everything to do with the topic of "moor". If you want to read all of this, you need a lot of time and interest: it's an educational trail.
Thank you @Deleted User ... you take with you what you get from the Golden October... 🍁🤗 The Black Moor (and also the Red Moor) are always great for a trip... I can only recommend them! 😌
After yesterday's participation in the Rhön Highland Games 🏴🙋🏻♂️ in Birx, another round at the Schwarzen Moor and to the former inner-German border.
Since the hiking trail around the Black Moor, as well as the observation tower, is partly closed/closed due to renovation, and despite the spooky misty view, it was beautiful but a bit short (don't eat the blue berries, they are grape berries and not blueberries), we have another one Arch made to the old GDR border point (tower, column path, front border fence). History that I never want to have again with an FCK NZI AfD.
Easy tour, something different as you walk a lot on wooden planks.
Today we walked the Black Moor. Then to the former inner German border. Nice to walk ☀️ since it wasn't that hot in the morning
We went on a guided hike through the Black Moor. We learned a lot of new things. It was very interesting, but even without a guide, the information boards were very well designed. Afterwards, we walked to the former border with a few remaining border fortifications. The weather held up great again.
I wish you all a happy Easter🐣🐣🐣💕 Our Easter walk took us to the Black Moor and the former German-German border at the "border triangle". Always nice up there. Rough Rhöner air and special nature...😃
