Hiking
Hoo hoo hoo! How spooky! On this tour, about halfway between Eindhoven and Mechelen, you will meet a host of fairytale characters. It’s likely to also be a bit spooky and you’ll have to be careful not to wake up Slapende Reus, the slumbering giant that gave the hike its name.
You will need to be brave. Mysterious roots will grab at you, trying to hold you down. But don't be afraid, goblins and gnomes live in this forest and will protect you.
If you are very quiet, you may meet some of them. They live deep in the mountain that bears their name and only sometimes come to light. Listen carefully and you will hear them mining ores and singing their wild goblin songs.
A picnic area and two forest playgrounds invite you to stay and play, but in truth the whole forest is one great adventure playground.
To access the trails, there are several car parks and facilities nearby.

Between the stately trees and the soft rustling of the wind, there it lies: the Sleeping Giant. An impressive work of art that seems to dream in the middle of nature. Today it was not a long walk for me, because my lower back is still playing up a bit. But …

It was a walk in the woods. We went to Kasterlee and of course our Woffer was allowed to come with us.
In terms of trails, we had a lot of choice. We visited the sleeping giant. We also encountered several gnomes. It led us to beautiful roads. It was also a very educational trip …
