Hochschwarzwälder Vier-Seen-Tour – Mountainbiken im Schwarzwald

Mountain biking

The name says it all on this tour: It combines four of the most beautiful lakes in the Black Forest into a demanding tour, which is long but technically also suitable for beginners and offers you the finest material for an extensive day tour on the bike. The start and finish of the tour are at Schluchsee, so that you can then end the day with a visit to the lake promenade.

From Schluchsee you first drive past the Windgfälweiher towards Feldsee and thus also towards Feldberg, the highest elevation of all German low mountain ranges. So you pedal through the middle of the Black Forest and collect lots of vertical meters - in return you will always be rewarded with idyllic viewpoints that are worth every single pedal turn. The Titisee then completes the refreshing quartet and invites you to a hearty break with a nice mix of hustle and bustle before you head back to the Schluchsee.

The approximately 72-kilometer tour is very hilly and will take you many hours, so you can plan this tour as a daily program, but also split it into two stages. If you want to take your time and would rather take the tour over two days, Hinterzarten or Titisee are a good destination. Here you will find a lot of hosts who offer cozy accommodation.

Kaiser Bay on Lake Schluchsee

Highlight • Beach

In summer, the Schluchsee is perfect for a little cooling off. Around the lake there are cozy bathing places, where you can refresh yourself on the way. At the end of a tour is also an extensive sunbathing on the beach in it. :)

The Unterkrummenhof is located on one of the most beautiful spots on the Schluchsee and is easily accessible on foot. The Vesperstube in the listed estate with its wood-clad façade and the typical Black Forest hipped roof has been a popular destination for more than 30 years.

Titisee

Highlight • Lake

"If you want to measure me, I will eat you." According to legend, Titisee is supposed to call out to anyone who wants to measure him. So he was for a long time considered immensely deep. Until somebody survived it and found out that the lake is only about 20 meters deep. Maybe that's the way saga number two has done, according to which come from the infinite depths of the lake, the small children. Because of rattle stork. But that did not turn out to be completely true. What remained is the name of the lake: "Titi" could have come from the Alemannic word for toddler "Teti". But it could also be that the Roman general Titus has something to do with it.

But finally to the facts. The lake is located at 840 meters altitude on the eastern slope of Feldberg and is a popular tourist destination. If you fancy a bit of hustle and bustle combined with great scenery and a stop at one of the many beer gardens, here is the opportunity.

We drove 2.5 hours to this tour today because it appealed to us because of the "difficult" category and 36 km of single trails. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. There were neither single trails on the route (ie not a single one), nor was it difficult in the sense of being technically demanding

Trail Reviews

Markus Faude
May 29, 2021, Schluchsee im Schwarzwald – Titisee Runde von Seebrugg

Today I made a nice tour with my 3 girls in the Black Forest. Once around the Schluchsee, up to the Sägebach and past the Titisee.

Translated by Google

Unfortunately drove past the Feldsee, so only 3 lakes 🙈

Translated by Google

From the top of the Feldberg you should look for a different route. The route I chose was partly adventurous and could not be driven or it was forbidden to drive on it.

Mega tour with best buddy Peter as guide. We were surprised how fresh it was on the tour. Long sleeves and a vest were announced.
