This route was planned by komoot.
Lieschen Müller did a good job. That was a really nice tour. About halfway we stopped at the Bergbier brewery. On the way back it unfortunately rained a lot (as expected), but that hardly spoiled our mood. It was nice. 😃
Finally done! I don't even know how long this loop has been on my absolute(!) to-do list -- since my early komoot years, anyway, so it's been a few years. 🤷♀ Today was the day. I've done parts of the loop, but never the entire route. And what can I say...? The Berg-Bier-Loop is simply AWESOME! 😍 I think this classic is so well known here in the Alb that a detailed explanation is unnecessary. I'll just say this: out of a possible five ⭐️, the loop deserves 5.5 ⭐️ (which exceeds the maximum rating scale) 😃. The route is great to ride, very varied, with something to look forward to all the time, and there are also places to stop for refreshments (there could be more, but at least...!)... Cyclist-❤️, what more could you want?! 🫶🏻 In the end, I was almost a little disappointed that the tour was "already" over, because for some reason I had a distance of 124 km in mind 🙈 But even so, with ten km less, it was still good (or rather, it was enough... I'm exhausted enough today... just mentioning that! 🤪)
The route is very incompletely signposted and we often lost our way 😉
.. we did a great tour today with a lot of nice Komootlers, few of whom I knew. Unfortunately, we spent the last two hours in continuous rain, but it didn't spoil the fun 😅
At the end of our holiday in the Swabian Alb, we did the "Berg Bier" tour. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to drink beer because it was far too hot 🤷♀️. We'll do that later. Impressive landscapes, places we didn't know about and beautiful rugged rocks. It was a beautiful day👏
Today I realized that I'm a philistine. I have scenic, cultural, historical, geological and probably many other gems on my doorstep. For the mountain beer tour, you should actually take 2 - 3 days to appreciate the delicacies that lie along the way.
Today we had planned a slightly longer route. I came here to plan the mountain beer tour and moved the starting point to Hayingen. Because I then tried back and forth and chose Gravel instead of a bike, I suspect that Komoot modified the original route (between the set waypoints) a bit. So our round does not follow 100% of the original route. But it was still very nice 😅 and our ⛰️mountain 🍺 beer tour. In Ehingen we made a mistake and ate a huge (and very tasty) sausage salad for lunch. After that, a siesta would have been the order of the day, but instead we continued with reluctant legs. But at the latest when we went up the Tiefentalweg, it paid off that we had properly strengthened ourselves. 😀
Well, today I blew the dust off this long-planned tour and tackled it. I started at 9:09 a.m., in perfect weather and a light breeze – gently swaying the grain in the morning sun – towards the military training area and beyond to the first stage destination, the "Lauterursprung" in Offenhausen. From there, I followed the Lauter to its confluence with the Danube near Untermachtal. I quickly realized that I wasn't the only one wanting to enjoy the Lauter today, but despite the heavy traffic, I had the river in its stubborn, steady flow, sometimes all to myself.☺️ From the confluence, I followed the Danube, Schmiech, and Blau along familiar paths. I treated myself to a rest here and there and arrived home 10 hours later, a slightly sore bottom but happy about this wonderful tour. Conclusion: "In the end, all things flow into one another – and from the center springs a river." (Movie quote)
