This route was planned by komoot.
It was a beautiful, varied tour on the ascent. The descent, however, was mostly along forest paths and roads.
A very fine panoramic tour. A stop at the Sunnalm is also recommended. Nice service, delicious food and fair prices. There are no restaurants in the Sandeggalm and Unterbergalm. Important for planning.
Very nice hike. Traveling all alone. Only met people again at the Sunnalm. After 9.4 km over cow trails, then finally the delicious Kaiserschmarrn and fresh milk from the cow.
A comfortable start at the Mösl Bahn on forest paths. Then the climb gets steeper. A whole section of the trail markings are missing. Just go between the two stables. Always with beautiful views. If the fog doesn't roll in like it did with us. The way back is mostly along forest paths and roads.
The tour starts uphill on a paved path before it narrows in a serpentine fashion and then leads onto a steep (and, in our case, very wet) meadow. The markings are quite easy to see, but the path itself is not. The destination is an abandoned farm complex at the top. There are signs there that lead the path further uphill to the left. The path is narrow, but very clearly visible. The landscape with the alpine roses is beautiful. I can't say anything about the visibility as we were completely in the fog. After passing the ridge, it goes pleasantly downhill, still on a narrow, clearly visible path. It doesn't take long until it leads onto a farm track and you can hike briskly and side by side again. The Sonnalm is on the right after a total of 8 km and invites you to linger. The path to the starting point is quick, with the exception of a short stretch of hiking trail, mostly on the road.
Pass the Mösl Inn and then turn right up to the Hochleger Alm. The climb here is somewhat strenuous and difficult. Once at the top, turn left through the Alpine roses toward the Sunalm. Descend via the road to the Mösl cable car. Finally, a short stretch through the forest and up the stairs back to the starting point. The Mösl starting point is easily accessible by 🚌 or 🚗.
The way up is nice, but after about halfway you get to the ski area, then it's all about walking the street - only at the very end is it really nice again (walking around counterclockwise) -- you can park at the lift at point A
We found this hike at Bergfex. A great lap with initially low clouds on the mountain, they changed the mood every minute. Wonderful views of the two local mountains of Mayrhofen Penken and Ahorn.
