After a short drive, the LandStreifer journey through time was followed by the LandStreifer Diersfordter Wald: With wonderful sunshine and rising temperatures, the Diersfordter Wald offered a pleasant coolness... the forest gleaming in the sun with its green, shady leaves and the fresh ferns growing underground created a unique atmosphere that could only be captured to a limited extent in the photo. A varied tour past the Schwarzes Wasser heath pond, through the Große Veen with its sand dunes, and along the wooden plank path through the beautiful heath moor. More by chance, a short detour to the somewhat hidden gravestones of the Barons von Wylich at the edge of the Landstreifer... Official 14.9km... after a few seemingly long straight stretches, you're happy for a change of scenery. (The paved hay path is such a friend.) A few benches are missing in the middle of the tour... but if you're not afraid of your seatbelt, you'll still find a cozy picnic spot. It was especially nice to enjoy the silence of nature in all its different facets during the breaks!
Today we started early for the sunrise 🌅 hike to Wesel in the Diersfordter Forest. I already knew the area from the Hohe Mark Steig. Because I liked the Diersfordt Forest so much, it should be the Landstreifer Rundweg today 🤗 The route is a nice addition to the main path of the Hohe Marksteig and leads over great paths. Unfortunately, the wooden plank path is currently closed, but I have set the original track, when the blockage is lifted it is better for running after 😉. The only annoying thing is that the information cannot be found on the Hohe Mark Steig page. It's good that I already know the way, otherwise I would have been very annoyed. But in the end everything was fine with the detour 😊🥾 A wonderful morning in the forest 🌳 🌳Good route 🌳Interesting places /nice views 🌳 Relaxation 🌳 Pure nature wild and plants 🌳 Benches and places to stay 🌳 Shelter on the route In my personal ranking gets the way the full number of trees 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 have fun hiking 🥾.
The Diersfordter Wald landstreifer starts at the black lake and runs through Diersfordt and the nearby Diersfordter Wald nature reserve. The highlight of the tour is the boardwalk over the boggy morass. This passage is worth a visit, especially when the weather is nice. Overall, the tour is highly recommended. ⛰️🌞🥾🏞
a nice, leisurely (there is hardly any elevation gain) round through forest, over moors and through dune landscape - very varied. We liked it! - "Wooden planks show you the way through the moor, a gem awaits and a wonderful forest landscape appears to you. This hike gives you beautiful insights and is full of surprises. Old gnarled oaks, copper beeches and Scots pines characterize the Diersfordt Forest and provide a home for the rare stag beetle. The Great Veen opens right next door. Here you have a wide view and look at a large sand dune, you walk along a wooden plank path over the beautiful heather moor. Very rare animal and plant species such as the sundew and cotton grass, rosemary heather, the moor frog and the great moor damsel are at home here. In 1850, the lords of Diersfordt had a 1,800-hectare game enclosure built for hunting. On your way you cross the 350 hectare enclosure, which is now home to red deer, fallow deer, mouflon and wild boar. Game locks give you access. With a bit of luck, you can observe the shy animals from the viewing hut along the way or elsewhere along the way. If there is no animal in sight, you may at least see traces of the wild boars. The animals are omnivores. They love beechnuts, acorns and field crops. But carrion, beetles and worms are also on their menu. They are not fussy when looking for food. They dig up the ground vigorously with their noses, breaking it down. A real gem on your hike is the Black Water. The impressive heath pond lies in a forest clearing in the middle of one of the oldest nature reserves in North Rhine-Westphalia. Take a seat on a bench on the viewing dune and let the lake work its magic on you. Already knew? The name black water comes from the brown-black color of the water. This is caused by the humic substances from the moor vegetation that are washed out of the peat." That was another nice LANDSTREIFER tour 👌🏻🤩.
Diersfordter Wald hiking paradise: pure nature on the Lower Rhine! From the collection "The 10 most beautiful hikes in the Ruhr area". The LandStreifer Wesel "Diersfordter Wald" - a must for all nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts! This 15 km long circular tour, which winds through undulating terrain, begins very close to the "Schwarzen Wassers" nature reserve - the heath pond, embedded in a dune landscape. Pack sturdy shoes and get ready for an unforgettable hiking experience! Varied landscapes and well-developed, natural paths also await you. On the moor adventure trail with wooden plank path, you can experience the unique flora and fauna up close and enjoy the silence of the forest. The "Am Jäger" restaurant is recommended for a refreshment halfway through. If you like something a little sweeter, you can find delicious cakes in the café at Diersfordt Castle. Please remember to respect nature and not leave any rubbish behind. 💚🌿
Hiking for explorers, nature lovers, and those who decide on a spur of the moment across the moor, by the water, and in the forest. This hike offers insights into a wonderful landscape and is full of surprises. Old gnarled oaks, common beeches, and Scots pines characterize the Diersford Forest and provide a home for the rare stag beetle. Right next door, the Grosse Veen (Great Veen) opens up. Here, you have a sweeping view of a large sand dune, and a wooden boardwalk leads you across the beautiful heath moor. Very rare animal and plant species such as sundew and cotton grass, rosemary heath, the moor frog, and the moor damselfly call this area home. A true gem on your hike is the "Schwarzes Wasser" (Black Water). This impressive heath pond is located in a forest clearing in the middle of one of North Rhine-Westphalia's oldest nature reserves. Take a seat on a bench on the viewing dune and take in the lake's beauty. ℹ️ The name "Black Water" refers to the brownish-black color of the water, which is caused by the humic substances of the moor vegetation that are washed out of the peat.
A very nice loop with many information panels about the local flora and fauna. We were lucky with the weather; at 5°C it was a bit chilly, and the wind felt even colder, but it was dry, and the sun even peeked out occasionally 🌞 The loop is very easy to walk, as there are no significant inclines, and the paths are all well-maintained. You walk on sandy soil, forest floor, and occasionally a short stretch of asphalt. We encountered a few parents with children in strollers and dog walkers. Everyone was friendly. It was very clean; there was no litter anywhere. This was my third time in the area, and I will definitely come back.
