The Fernar Trail is our youngest long line and yet it is very different from the others. On the one hand, you don't reach the trailhead by cable car, but by shuttle, and on the other hand, this trail is a 100 percent natural trail or hiking trail. You will love it if you like alpine trails, are not afraid of rocky passages and also feel comfortable in tight hairpin bends. You should also have physical strength and a tried and tested riding technique on this trail.
The bike shuttle takes you from the parking garage at the Gaislachkoglbahn over the Ötztaler Gletscherstraße up to a high alpine world. From the parking lot at Tiefenbachferner you start the trail adventure ahead of you. Right from the start it is clear that the trail demands soulful riding: shifting weight, putting it into practice, looking for the ideal line - these are the requirements that you face on the first six kilometers. Only towards the end does the trail get a bit easier. At Gasthof Gaislach, at the end of the trail, there are calories, fluids and a cozy bench with a great view.
You now continue the Long Trail on a piece of the Löple Trail, where you can take a breather. With the lower part of the Nene Trail, however, there is another technical test. The blocked trail then takes you to the final descent, the Broate Line, on which you complete the last few meters to Sölden.

If you want to face an epic challenge in Sölden, you should definitely not miss the Fernar Trail. Even the basic data are formidable. The start is at over 2,800 meters above sea level on the Tiefenbachferner and almost 1,400 meters down to Sölden give an idea of what awaits you.
The technical difficulty
