Slow Trail Kitzelberg at Klopeiner See – Holiday Region Klopeiner See-Südkärnten-Lavanttal

The Kitzelberg is a wooded ridge on the west bank of the Klopeiner See. At the summit, you'll find a beautiful viewing platform – so despite the tall trees, you can enjoy a great view of the Klopeiner See. A pleasant circular hike leads you up to the summit from St. Kanzian. The Slow Trail runs along comfortable forest paths and is therefore suitable for the whole family.

Your hike begins on the west bank of the Klopeiner See. You stroll along the lakeside road until a road branches off to the right towards Kleinsee. Then you follow the road along the Kleinsee, surrounded by reeds, and a little later you reach a forest path. This path gently ascends to the left towards the Kitzelberg. The forest path winds its way up to the summit in wide switchbacks. Once at the top, you have a great view of the Klopeiner See and the Turner See. From the summit, follow the forest path in the direction of Turnersee. You walk comfortably downhill and back to the Klopeiner See below the Kitzelberg.
