This route was planned by komoot.
Very varied circular hiking trail. For the most part, the path runs right along the edge of the forest. Many meters of the route also run over paved roads and dirt roads. You will be rewarded with great panoramic views. Highly recommended! :)
Proven, but never run at 32 degrees 😄
The nearly 13km circular hike is marked with a black "E" on a yellow background and leads around the Eggetal, the only longitudinal valley in the Wiehen Hills. Mostly along the forest edge or quiet roads, you'll often enjoy wonderful views. Especially from the Wiehen Tower, on clear days, you can see as far as the Teutoburg Forest and the North German Plain. Highly recommended 😃👍
Without "New Mill". 😏 (see also https://www.komoot.de/tour/362267754 from @Teutoburger Wald Urlaubsregion )
We walked the loop from the Schwarzer Brink car park, which is right on the path. Those following us should definitely look out for the "Eggetalweg" sign, which we missed once, and we also used an older Komoot path that was blocked by a storm with trees criss-crossing. There are signs for Weichstrecke, which we noticed too late. Otherwise, the circular path is beautiful.
The Eggetal Valley, with its districts of Börninghausen, Büscherheide, and Einighausen, is called the "Jewel of the Lübbecke Region." It is also the only longitudinal valley in the Wiehen Hills. If you climb the 29.5-meter-high Wiehen Tower (125 steps) from the viewing platform, you'll have an impressive view of the North German Plain. Yes, we would have...towards the end of our tour...but the rain had gotten a bit heavier, and the valleys were hazy... We skipped the climb up the tower on slippery wood "for nothing"... @Barbara Nachtigal🚴♀️📸🥾 planned our tour - we arrived in time for the WINDOW MUSIC - - the small highlight of the tour, we talked a lot, mastered the climbs properly, admired the last roses, and discovered a eucalyptus tree.... Barbara wasn't responsible for the "modestly damp weather." The short detour to the restored Limburg tower and the old court linden tree were lovely additions. Almost 500 meters from the Eggetal Panorama Trail runs the Wittekindsweg trail and the E11 long-distance hiking trail, which connects Poland with the Netherlands. My long-distance hiking heart always gets a "nudge" in that direction when I see such opportunities, so our conversations revolved around, among other things, the different forms of "being on the move," and Barbara's love of cycling was clearly a priority. But now we were out on foot in this slowly becoming colorful autumn. Our komoot-like walk together calls for a repeat – we're sure we'll find something to do.
With the weather getting better, this is a truly beautiful circular hike along the Eggetal Panorama Trail, also known as the "Jewel of the Lübbecke Region" 🌞🌻 Nestled between the Egge and Wiehen Hills are small villages, countless fields, and dense forests. The Wiehen Tower offers sweeping views of the countryside. You can stop for a bite at the Limberg Forester's House near the castle ruins of the same name, where you can even get married 😋 I say yes to this beautiful hike, but here and there the path could be maintained a little better, but that doesn't detract from the overall experience ⛰️💫🥾
