Thanks to @Eckhard Seyser's inspiration, I treated myself to a nice tour of the Anterselva Valley up to Lake Anterselva today to give my feet a break 🚵🤩😅 A great path that only leads along the road in small sequences and otherwise through a really beautiful valley and nice places 😍😃 The lake is the highlight with its great turquoise water and the mountains around it 😍⛰️👌 I also found it very interesting to see the original biathlon stadium, which is otherwise only known from television 👍⛷️ Unfortunately, on the way back I had to do a lap of honor because I actually left my backpack at the chapel 🙈🙈🙈 Well, forgetfulness keeps you fit 🤪🤣🤣🤣
Antholz Valley 😍😍😍😍. There is nothing more to say.
This cycle path has an almost flat first part then when you start to climb it is unfortunately on the road even if it is not busy and becomes tough. The lake is the icing on the cake. By having more time and more legs, you can get in step. On the way back, we avoided the road by descending from the French path. Fun
The final tour of this year's bike weekend: ... by car from our accommodation in Reischach to Rasen. Then we headed towards Antholz by bike. To avoid the paved main road, we decided to turn right onto a dirt road. I'm used to pushing my bike by now 🫣. This meant a pushing section of about 170m of elevation 🥵 before we reached the main road again. This continued for a few more kilometers to the biathlon center and the adjacent lake for a photo session. Then we took the main road back to the parking lot in Rasen. Then we drove back home via the Staller Saddle. Note: Unfortunately, for whatever reason, my Garmin didn't record/calculate the pushing section, so the total distance was about 35km with 640m elevation.
Start of the bike tour at the entrance to the Antholzertal near Niederrasen on a beautiful gravel path up to 1200 m above sea level, then on the main road to the biatlon stadium at Lake Antersee. Along the lake until the road climbs in interesting serpentines to the Staller Sattel, Obersee. (time-limited one-way traffic for cars) Wonderful, rapid and well-deserved descent on the main road.
