🌿🚶♂️ My hike on the LT2 🚶♂️🌿 Today the LT2 🥾 was on the agenda - and what a tour! 😍 I had actually hoped that the sun 🌞 would rise early and bathe the route in warm light, but no luck! ❌ Instead it was overcast ☁️ at 0 degrees ❄️, which gave the atmosphere a very special charm. A real highlight ✨ is the first section with the huge stones 🪨 at the Hoher Stein natural monument - simply impressive! 🤩 The climb there ⛰️ is quite decent 💪, but the path 🏞️ has been lovingly designed by many hikers with small stone towers ⛏️. It looks like a giant stone snake 🐍 made of rocks is winding its way through the forest - a unique sight! 😲👏 After the Hoher Stein natural monument, we continued towards the Fichtenhütte 🏡. The path there was varied 🌳 and offered beautiful views 👀. After the Fichtenhütte, I reached the small village of Rauenberg 🏘️, which I was immediately impressed by! The residents 🧑🌾 beautify their village with loving details 🎨🌸, be it through decorated gardens, small figures or artistically designed signs. A really inviting and charming atmosphere! 😊 From there we continued to Wessental 🏡, a very nice village. Here you immediately feel the solidarity of the community 🤝, be it through well-kept streets, communally designed squares or simply the friendly atmosphere. You immediately feel welcome! 😊 Now I was on the way back 🔄 and headed towards the Diana Hut 🏕️. The route led through beautiful forest passages 🌲 and was a perfect end to this special tour. After the Diana Hut, the huge stone snake 🐍🪨 appeared again, winding its way impressively through the forest. A fascinating image that had already thrilled me on the way there! 🤩 The LT2 is really something very special! 🎉 I will definitely do it again! 🔄 If you like unusual paths 🛤️, impressive rocks 🏞️ and a great route 🚀, you should definitely try it out! ✅🔥
A very nice hike, we were just the only ones on this trail. Wonderful views and lots of forest. Overall a very nice tour.
The start and finish are in Boxtal at the church. There are also parking spaces directly on the main street in Boxtal. The LT2 is a very beautiful but also very physically demanding hiking trail. There are a lot of benches for taking a break and there are actually always opportunities to take a break.
Beautiful hiking trail near Freudenberg-Boxtal. Mainly through forest areas between Boxtal, Rauenberg, and Wessental.
We circled the high stones twice because the marking is not clear here and the direction can only be recognized at second glance.
We were able to truly enjoy our border hike today between the Spessart and Odenwald in the warm sunshine after yesterday's torrential downpours. Small, pretty villages, lush green forests, numerous beautiful wayside shrines, red quarries, enchanted, mysterious paths, and many magnificent views delighted us on this tour. We rarely saw other hikers. The stop in Boxtal at the Gasthaus Rose was worthwhile with a good Spessart SpechtPils and a tasty lunch, making the walk from the deep valley up to the top quite manageable. However, some forest paths were heavily and generously graveled, probably to remove traces of forestry work. This made us wonder whether the sleepers had been forgotten... All in all, a very interesting tour and well manageable.
Follow the blue sign LT2 for 17 km. You can park in the village. At the beginning of the tour, it first goes 2.8 km uphill over meadows and forests. 🌳🌳🌳 Stone men show the way through the forest. 😃 At one point the path was so overgrown that we had to walk an arch across the forest. Long pants are currently an advantage. Various benches invite you to linger. The ascent of the tower came as a gift, there is no longer a view 🤷♂️. The trees are so tall ... you can see nothing but tree tops.
Walked the LT2 with 2 hiking mice today. Good paths, wonderful forests, culture, everything is included. Highly recommended, especially the Hohe Steine above Boxtal. An almost mystical place.
