We were really lucky with the weather ☀️ - When we started, it was still cloudy and very, very windy. The wind stayed, but the sun came out. And then 100m before we reached the campsite, it started to rain heavily - what more could you want 😊 Great hike around Hohenneuffen with beautiful viewpoints, great oak trees and also some water!
Today I was almost alone on a beautiful and varied tour. Great to enjoy the sun ☀️, listen to the birds and just walk.
I can recommend hochgehkeltert without any restrictions. Nice tour from Neuffen up to Hohenneuffen. Then over to the paraglider launch site - which I had to myself today yay 😄 - further to the hellholes and then downhill again. The way down is currently a bit muddy and difficult without a profile. The tour is stated to be 300 meters in altitude, but with the Hohenneuffen I think that it was more than 400 in total. My thirst for beer is pretty clear in this regard 🍻
A bit strenuous up the mountain to the castle, but absolutely worth it!!
We did another tour of the HochGEHberge today. Simply beautiful. The landscape and also the great signage - highly recommended
Glorious weather had been announced on the weather map. What could be nicer than choosing a tour with potential distant views. In the "still to be done" filing, the Hochgehbergeweg "pressed up" quickly found itself around Hohenneuffen Castle. This was quickly included in the planning, the direction of the route changed and off we went. So actually go. The quickest route to the Schelmenwasen hiking car park near Neuffen. With a view of the castle, it went above beautiful vineyards along the way. One or the other paraglider enjoyed the view from a bird's eye view. After a hike of almost 2km to the south, you can include a detour to the Bauerloch cave in the route. The way to the cave goes along a narrow, steep and slippery path. Not good to walk. The cave itself is currently closed with a lattice. This is a water cave, so it is not without risk. In the lower area one apparently encounters a cave stream when visiting. So back to the main route. A fire salamander crawled sleepily along the side of the road. He probably got it wrong in the season. No wonder in this spring-like weather. At the southernmost point of the tour, it now goes steeply up to the hill. After a short time you reach the hell holes, a narrow passage between rocks. It's good that I've lost a few Christmas pounds again. Then you reach a great vantage point at the Josef-Stellbauer launch site for paragliders. Ah, so that's where they came from. The view of the castle and the valley is sensational. The path now leads directly to Hohenneuffen Castle. Well, with this dream weather, of course, there had to be a small snack with distortion on the castle wall in the blazing sunshine. Well strengthened, it was now just a matter of letting gravity roll back down into the valley, and hey presto I was back at the parking lot. That was the end of a wonderful tour. The "Hochgehberge" tours are really not bad.
Hello Hello, Today I walked the "Hochgehkeltert" tour from the HOCHGEHBERGEN. And it came as I feared: after just a few meters, the road was blocked due to Logging work 🙊. So I followed the diversion (at least one was signposted to the castle; it's not a matter of course either 😉) - but not quite. After a short time, a wide, unmarked path branched off to the left and on the GPS I saw that the path was heading towards the tour I had planned. So followed the path and - lucky: I came out directly above at the road closure and so I was able to follow the official signs again 👍. The rest is quickly told: A very nice premium trail with the highlights of Hohenneuffen, starting point for paragliders/hang-gliders, hell holes, Molach biotope, crossing of the Dürrenbach and Neuffener Heide 👌. The starting point is the Schelmenwasen car park by the outdoor pool or - if you arrive by public transport 🚉 - the Neuffen train station.
