Leistrup Forest Route – pure nature in the Teutoburg Forest

This short hike through the Leistrup forest south of Diestelbruch packs a lot of variety in a little stretch. You will explore one of the most biodiverse forests in Lippe, which is ideal for getting to know nature better. Between red beech, red alder and sessile oak, you take a look into the past and discover an exciting adventure trail.

On the southern outskirts of Diestelbruch, the route begins at a parking lot for hikers. For the first few meters you hold on to the edge of the forest before you dive into the world of trees. Almost exactly halfway through the route you will pass the so-called sacrificial stones, two large rocks that may have belonged to an old Germanic place of worship.

And only a little later, the second window into the past opens: A few meters further you will reach a 3,500 year old cairn grave. Pretty impressive! With an adventure trail, the hike is particularly varied: Among other things, you can get involved in a competition with the forest dwellers and listen to the sounds of nature. So you are back on the outskirts in no time.
