Do you hear that too! Absolute calm. This is how it is for you in the "Weinsüden Weinort" Sachsenheim in the middle of Baden-Württemberg's smallest nature park, the nature park Stromberg-Heuchelberg. Look forward to the forest, wine and well-being.…

Round on the Stromberg on Saturday afternoon. The start was at the hiking car park at the school in Hohenhaslach. First the place is crossed. From reaching the main road, the round is continuously marked with SH1. After the village it goes up into the forest. High above the vineyards past Spielberg in the meadows above Ochsenbach and down into the small half-timbered village. Continue through fields and blooming meadows to Spielberg. Then again up into the forest on the Hohe Reute and descending again to Hohenhaslach, which you pass on the promising edge of the former fortress and finally get back to the starting point. Paths are mostly wide and sometimes longer asphalt sections. A few nice paths are also interspersed. Easy to walk, but bring some fitness with you because of the length. There is a good variety between the forest, vineyards, fields and meadows through the figure eight. 15°C with a completely overcast sky and a light wind, which was a bit fresh on the open spaces. Dry except for a few drops when reaching Spielberg on the way back, which I took as an opportunity to take a little rest under halfway leafy trees.

The Kraichgau-Stromberg-Tourismus eV has listed 10 favorite tours on its excellent website, including the "Rundwanderung Historisches Kirbachtal" (https://www.kraichgau-stromberg.de/enthaben/ausflugstipp-sachsenheim), which I have around one small detour to the Blankenhorn ruins. The starting point is the hiking car park at the old wine press in Hohenhaslach, the self-proclaimed "Pearl of the Stromberg" 😏 There is a lot to discover right from the start into the vineyards: various stations on the Weitblickweg, geological faults and great viewpoints over Hohenhaslach. At the Luginsland hut, you dive into the forest and there follows a long passage with beautiful paths and some gravel paths up above Spielberg, where an adventurous path between the edge of the forest and vineyards offers wonderful views. We continue above Ochsenbach along the forest, then on wide forest paths in the direction of the Blankenhorn castle ruins. The "official" route, which is well signposted throughout, is left here, but the detour to the ruins of the castle, which was built around 1220, is definitely worth the additional 3km. The 111-step sky ladder on the Burgberg is unfortunately partially rotten and closed, but the barbecue area and picnic facilities in the former courtyard are very well developed. After a small Burgrunde, it goes back a little the same way and then over a beautiful path back on the main route, which then soon leads down to Ochsenbach. Above the village you have another beautiful distant view of the whole Kirbachtal, the village itself has some very beautiful half-timbered houses. From here, the rest of the route runs almost entirely on gravel and asphalt, the brave can take the way back over the Baiselsberg (about 250 meters in altitude and 2km more) - I'm lazy and stay on the official route. This leads past the Fontanis spring in Spielberg, a real meeting place for hikers and cyclists on such a hot Saturday From here it's a good 3km through the valley floor and Hohenhaslach up to the starting point at the old wine press. All in all, a very nice tour with a decent amount of trails, great views and a small portion of culture. Absolute recommendation, especially since the local cobra turned out to be a grass snake after all😉 (https://www.swr.de/swraktuell/baden-wuerttemberg/stuttgart/entwarnung-keine-kobra-im-kirbachtal-100.html)
Today we went to Kirchbachtal in beautiful weather. A relaxed tour with great views of the country. Pure vineyards, makes you want to taste it soon in warmer temperatures.
From Ochsenbach up to the Geigersberg, into the forest, then along the edge of the forest with a very beautiful view of the valley. Down to the rest hut "lm Schelterbronnen", further down into the Schippbachtal. Through the forest, then in the open over to Spielberg and below the vineyards back to Ochsenbach (from the book series: Wege. 32 running trails - by Werner Sippel)
