I always enjoy walking this route. Afterwards, I stay in Rheine and enjoy the weather 😉🌞🍨
Wonderful route in and around Rheine. Good to run even in this weather. Finally, a delicious breakfast in Rheine. 😊
Always a lovely hike. Easy walking and you can spend some time in Rheine afterwards. I wish everyone a happy new year 🍀 health and exercise 😊
Today our tour took us through Rheine. There are a lot of murals to admire here. We already know many of them from a bike tour. But you get a completely different perspective on foot. We didn't see any murals towards Elte today. We have another appointment soon. Here's the link to our bike tour. It includes more murals: https://www.komoot.de/tour/1867734390?ref=aso If you'd like more information about the murals, check out this link: https://www.emssidegallery.de/ After the first burst of color, our path led us directly along the Ems River to the B70. This was our turning point. There was also a new mural under the small bridge right next to the Ems bridge. We continued through the beautiful Bentlage Forest and past the saltworks. At the zoo, we heard cheerful children's voices and the clattering of storks. We could see them in the trees on their numerous nests. Some were also flying freely in the meadows outside the zoo. And a brilliant blue sky. Simply beautiful 🥰🥰🥰.
The hike, led by tour guide Hennes, started in the best hiking weather in Rheine-Bentlage at the Saline "Gottesgabe" in the direction of Rheine. along the Salinen Canal, we first went in the direction of Rheine. After a short detour to the Falkenhof Museum, we went to the other side of the Ems. Past the upper lock, the Ems canal and the lower lock, always along the Ems. A break for refreshment should not be missing here. The Ems side was changed again via the cycle and hiking trail of the B 70 bridge. Through the Bentlager Forest, the Bentlage Monastery destination was quickly reached. After refreshment with coffee and cake in the monastery cafe, we went back to the starting point of the tour. There was an unexpected stop at the salt pans. A big thank you goes to the association for the maintenance of the salt pans. There was a lot of information about salt production "Yesterday and Today". PS: Pictures of this tour can be found in the exploration tour from April 19th, 2023.
Today we went to Rheine on the Ems, the tour comes from the book Hikes for the Soul Münsterland. It goes along the Ems to Bentlage Monastery (delicious cake) and over the salt pans back to Rheine. Simply wonderful in this beautiful weather 🤗🥾👍🏻 The amount of rubbish hanging in the trees after the flood makes me sad😢 In my personal ranking the tour gets good 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 Have fun hiking 🥾 🌳 Good guidance 🌳 Interesting places 🌳 Relaxation 🌳 Pure nature, wild and plants 🌳 Benches and places to linger X Refuge on the route
Once again a great tour from the book Hiking for the Soul. From Rheine train station you always go along the Ems. Nice varied path. There are opportunities to eat or drink something, the Salien or the nature zoo could be visited. Full 5 stars.
