Hiking
The Tunø loop leads once around the small car-free island of Tunø. You will hike through wild coastal landscapes with fabulous views of the sea. The easy circular hike is ideal for a day trip and can easily be done with the whole family.
The starting point is the harbor of Tunø, which you can easily reach by ferry from Hou. The route mainly follows the coastline and initially leads 20 meters above the sea in the south along the mighty cliff coast.
At the western tip of the island, you will reach beach level again, only to climb back up the cliffs of Nørreklint shortly thereafter. Denmark's largest population of the rare Black Guillemot, a comical diving bird, lives here.
Along the north coast, you will then hike past Nørrestrand. Shortly before the end of the loop, a small detour to the eastern tip of the island is worthwhile. From here, you have a particularly beautiful view of the neighboring island of Samsø.
Back in the village of Tunø, cozy cafes, restaurants, and small shops invite you to end the day in a relaxed way. If you still have time, you can also explore the car-free interior of the island (with a viewing tower).
