Today on the last day the hoped-for sun was finally here 😀. This time it was a contrast to NSG Aachtobel as one of the oldest NSG in Germany. That alone sounded exciting, but the view on site was amazing.🤩 Accompanied by the water, we went uphill and downhill on narrow paths over hill and dale 🥾. Finally, we went up the ridge again with a great view into the Ländle. Nice little round tour, which offered a lot, but also demanded on the small and large climbs, as well as a lot of impassable, muddy terrain by the river 😉
Muddy - Dirty - Fog - Rain - And yet it had something. I'm not on the tower. No view. But a young group with children came towards us. You liked it. Greetings to you. 👍👏
Hiked through the Aachtobel today in changeable weather ☁️🌦️🌧️. It was beautiful, very slippery, adventurous and quite exhausting in places. But we mastered the adventure, the clothes and the hiking boots are covered with dirt, but why do I have a washing machine 😜. Today we were finally lucky to visit and climb the observation tower. On the tower you have an amazing all-round view, it's a pity that it was a bit over there today, on a clear day this view must be even more impressive. Nothing of the do despite... it was again a great experience as a family.
Today we went on a "real" hike again: We started at the free car park below the tower in Hohenbodman. After visiting the tower we went back towards the car park and then left down the tarmac road to Mayer's Burghöfe to enjoy an ice cream. Behind the farm we continued right along wide paths and then narrow paths down into the ravine (Tobel). The next destination was the Maria im Stein pilgrimage site, a chapel built on the rock. We went down narrow paths again and then finally into the ravine. The path, partly directly on the Aach, was very nice to walk and smelled of wild garlic. At the moment, however, caution is advised as some places are very muddy and slippery! We walked back up to Hohenbodman along wide forest paths and enjoyed the view at the playground before we arrived at the car park. Conclusion: nice tour through the ravine and view from the tower or the playground
Sooooo... a Father's Day hike was on the agenda - and there was nothing going on. We parked right next to the tower in a well-designed, free parking lot for hikers. First, we climbed the 137 steps up to the top of the tower - you'd better be sure-footed. Some of the steps are very worn. But the view is beautiful, even if it wasn't clear. Finally, we decided to hike through the Aachtobel ravine to Maria im Stein. Since it had been raining the last few days, it was quite muddy in places, like a ravine. But it was still a fairly easy walk. We had Maria im Stein completely to ourselves - it was wonderful to be able to enjoy such peace and quiet. So we ventured into the sand caves - which turned out to be very fascinating. The climb back up to the tower led us through a farm where they also sell ice cream - unfortunately, our animal companion 🐕 was attacked by a farm dog, so our desire for ice cream quickly disappeared.
Inspired by Wolfgang's beautiful autumn photos, we decided today to do this tour again in a slightly different form. This time we also started from the Steinhöfe hiking car park. Shortly thereafter, steps descend into the ravine, and along the molasses rocks you reach the pilgrimage site of Maria im Stein. Continue through the ravine to the flood retention basin, where you cross the Ach. Pretty steep and long it then pulls uphill through the forest and you get to Hohenbodmann. Then we walk a bit along the road again until we turn left to the Deyer Hof. Behind the farm it then goes back down into the ravine to Maria im Stein and the parking lot in Steinhöfe. Unfortunately, the paths through the ravine today were very muddy and slippery in places. The tour is therefore only recommended in dry weather.
By car to Bruckfelden, park at the WP. In fine weather, we went to the Maria im Stein pilgrimage chapel, through the Aachtobel ravine, and to the observation tower in Hohenbodman. Then we returned on a paved road and a short distance through the Aachtobel ravine.
