Zams – Kronburgrunde

As the tour title already reveals, this round is all about Kronburg. It towers on a steep rock between Zams and Schönwies above the Inntal valley. It was built as early as the 14th century and still enchants the region today – now as a ruin.

You start the tour at the valley station of the Venetseilbahn cable car in Zams. If you are arriving by train, Landeck-Zams station is the nearest stop. First, you head towards the Inn and accompany the river for a short while. And soon, the mountain world will be on your program.

Even from a distance, you can see the imposing rock with Kronburg as its peak. Now your mountain legs are called for, it gets steep. But the destination is worth it. First, you reach the Klostergut Kronburg with its pilgrimage church. During a break, you can eat here, head to the Kneipp garden, or visit an art exhibition.

Afterwards, you continue hiking uphill – high up to Kronburg. At the old castle ruin, you can enjoy the view and perhaps choose a nice spot for a picnic with provisions. You will then return to Zams on new paths – via Rifenal and Anreit, among others.
