Hiking
The Fanellhorn, with its distinctive, four-sided pyramid, rises dominantly above the Valsertal. With the highest peak among the marked three-thousanders, it offers unique insights into the diversity of the Vals mountain world, with its large mountain lakes and the Fanell Glacier.
The starting point of this tour is Zerfreila, which you can easily reach by post bus in summer. Alternatively, there are parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the Zerfreila restaurant, which is suitable for a stop after the summit ascent.
Past the impressive Zervreila dam, you walk for the first half hour on an asphalt road to the chapel of St. Bartholomew. From there, a narrow path leads up to the Guraletschsee.
Breathtaking views of the Zervreilahorn and the tranquility of the mountains accompany you on your way to the summit. The return journey follows the same route.
