The famous hike across the Besseggen. We took the Gjende ferry to Memurubu and hiked back to Gjendesheim.

We start with the first boat in Gjendesheim and drive across the Gjende to Memurubu. The long hike is worth it with lots of great views and a nice rest at Bessvatnet with a foot bath. We climb over the ridge to the summit of Veslfjellet (1743m). A long descent follows back to the starting point.

You should only do this tour in dry weather. From Gjendesheim, there is a climbing section after about 3 hours, which is easily doable. The entire path is well marked, wide and partly easy to hike with stairs.
