The Gutach Painters' Trail is a short, leisurely tour through history, culture, and Black Forest idyll. At 14 stations, you immerse yourself in the world of the Gutach artists' colony, which was shaped at the end of the 19th century by the artists Wilhelm Hasemann and Curt Liebich. Their paintings made the Black Forest, with its Bollenhut hats, farmhouses, and landscapes, known far beyond the region.
The circular route starts at the Hasemann-Liebich Art Museum in the center of Gutach and leads you through the village, past historic farmhouses, beautiful meadows, and along the Gutach river. Illustrated information boards tell exciting stories about the artists' colony, the Gutach traditional costume, and life in the Black Forest.
Along the way, there are always beautiful views and small special places. Especially pleasant on warm days: after about half of the route, you have direct access to the stream and can cool off wonderfully. The tour is easy to walk and also feasible with a stroller.
