Some people rack up kilometers. Others collect mountain passes. This tour belongs to the latter category. It's for you if you want to know what your legs are really capable of – and if you've set your sights on conquering every hill and pass in the Kraichgau and Stromberg regions in a single day.
You start in Bretten. From here, a true road cycling challenge awaits: around 200 kilometers and approximately 2,800 meters of elevation gain, spread across the entire hilly landscape between Kraichgau and Stromberg.
The route connects the region's most prominent climbs into one grand loop. Classics like Michaelsberg, Schindelberg, Kleingartacher Höhe, Bannhalde, Roßwager Steige, and Gündelbacher Steige are included, as well as some lesser-known passes in the Stromberg region. Expect steeper ramps, longer climbs, fast descents, and consistently calmer valley sections – a constant change that makes the tour varied and interesting.
Along the way, you'll ride through half-timbered towns, vineyards, and over numerous hills. Places like Eppingen are perfect for a refreshment stop before the next hills await you. Just before the "Hohe Reute" pass, there's a short section of gravel – only a few meters, but easily rideable.
The special appeal of this tour: You can collect all the official hill pass signs in the region on a single loop.
The rules are simple: Ride the tour, take a selfie at each pass sign, and then upload your photos to the Wall of Fame. After that, send a short email to info@kraichgau-stromberg.de. Once you've collected all the passes, you'll receive a small gift from Kraichgau-Stromberg Tourism.
What awaits you along the way? Steep climbs, long undulations, fast descents, and expansive views – and eventually, that special feeling of having cycled right through the entire hilly landscape of the region.
When you complete this loop, you haven't just racked up the kilometers – you've conquered all the hill passes of Kraichgau-Stromberg in a single day. And that's more than impressive.

Dream tour: no long climbs - just a few short ones😉.
Great trails 👌 and beautiful varied area 🤩 - a must. Thanks for the tip.
I rode the tour from Bruchsal and added the Michaelsberg near Trippsdrill, then it was >200 km and >3000 hm. It was fun 😁. You can certainly do it in several stages too - but why? 😂
