Steep, rugged, and densely wooded, the grey cliffs of the 1,302-meter-high Mont Raimeux rise majestically. This hike into the Gore Virat gorge takes you right through them, rewarding you with fantastic views and spectacular waterfalls and rock formations.

From the train station in Crémines, reachable from Moutier in just a few minutes by train, you head directly towards the cliffs and ascend approximately 400 meters in altitude on a wide, zigzagging forest path. At the top, a stunning viewpoint with a fire pit awaits, or alternatively, just a few meters further on, the Restaurant de Raimeux – perfect for a break after the climb!

Following the edge of the cliffs, you then hike to the Gore Virat gorge. The narrow path winds skillfully through the unique rock and forest landscape and leads you back to the village of Corcelles, where you can catch a train.
