This route is for true mountain biking enthusiasts. Its distance, elevation gain, and natural setting make it a challenging ride.
The loop starts at the Pottaschkopf refuge, at the foot of the Grand Wintersberg, the highest peak in the Northern Vosges. But rather than tackling the ascent, the route begins on flat terrain and then descends to warm up, leading to Niederbronn-les-Bains, a leading spa town in the Northern Vosges.
The real challenge then begins, with three successive climbs on the rest of the route. The first leads to Wasenbourg Castle, one of the many ruined fortresses in the massif. Each descent is punctuated by the passage through charming little villages, first Oberbronn and then Wasenberg. The final climb, the steepest, brings you back to the Pottaschkopf refuge.

Comments
Only discomfort towards the end of the course, large trunks that block the way, I had to improvise 😡
