Hiking

The Löfer Rabenlaypfad is a varied loop with a sporty character and a high enjoyment factor. The Traumpfädchen to Rabenlay is perfect for you if you enjoy narrow paths, a few altitude meters, and scenic breaks. Bring some sure-footedness and basic fitness – the reward is breathtaking views into the Moselle valley. The landscape opens up again and again, showing why this region is so popular.

The tour takes you through an exciting mix of shady forest, open fields, and steep slopes. The constant ups and downs are particularly appealing, always revealing new perspectives: vineyards, Moselle loops, and striking rock formations accompany you every step of the way. Highlights are the panoramic viewpoints high above the valley, especially Rabenlay itself – a place to catch your breath, marvel, and linger. Benches and a winegrower's hut invite you to let your gaze wander. With a bit of luck, you might also spot Ehrenburg Castle or Thurant Castle on the other side of the Moselle. In short: a small adventure trip with a grand landscape cinema.

The starting point is on the outskirts of Löf, with parking available. Arrival by bus or train is also easily manageable. You'll find places to eat in the village; but take enough water with you, especially on warm days. Sturdy footwear is a must – then nothing will stand in the way of a successful hiking day. Have fun out there!

Note: Between the winegrower's hut and the Rabenlayhütte, the Traumpfädchen runs along a narrow path through the steep slope. Therefore, very good sure-footedness, freedom from vertigo, and sturdy footwear are necessary for this section. Walking in icy, snowy, or slippery conditions is strongly discouraged.

A slightly shorter route, with a fantastic view of the Moselle.

To start our short trip to the Moselle... we took a dream path under our feet. With fantastic views of the Moselle.
It was beautiful and a perfect landing. We had barely got in the car when a downpour started 🌦

The absolute highlight of this dream path is the passage between the Winzerhütte and the Rabenlay. It runs entirely along narrow paths on steep cliffs above the Moselle. Beautiful views and comfortable benches characterize this route.
An absolutely recommendable tour, especially for children or advanced semesters, because the majority of the remaining path runs across fields and meadows and through …

The weather is nice, not too hot today; we want to do the loop from Rabenlay. The view is fantastic. Once at the top, you have a fantastic view of the Moselle. There's also a stamp at the hut; unfortunately, we don't have a hiking pass 😐. Then we continue along the narrow path, definitely not for the faint of …
