https://www.komoot.de/collection/890629/-traumpfaedchen Although I've already walked the big loop, the Virne-Burgweg dream path (https://www.komoot.de/tour/107213844), this small loop still appealed to me. As soon as I drive down the hairpin bends into the valley basin to Virneburg, I see the attractive castle ruins standing on a raised castle hill. The white chapel just below increases the attractiveness of the ruin immensely. The houses of the small village are draped around the castle. The combination of castle, chapel and small historic village with a creek valley form wonderful ingredients for a good hiking trail. The dream path circles the small village on attractive forest and meadow paths and in constant ups and downs. Beautiful views of the Virneburg and its castle chapel with its leaning tower are guaranteed here. The spiral staircase to the castle leads through dense hawthorn bushes and will be in full bloom and fragrant in spring. There are all sorts of nice views of the town from the castle. The descent from the castle leads us first through the forest and then over the Nitzbach. The hiking trail that follows runs parallel to the road, but the bubbling Nitzbach meanders angrily through the narrow valley landscape. Broken alders and thick-stemmed willows form an interesting meadow landscape in a wild juxtaposition, which is also fascinating to look at in winter. The crystal clear blue creek glistens in the sun. This meadow path leads us directly back to our parking lot. Conclusion: A truly small dream tour for an afternoon. A lot is offered on the almost 4 kilometers. With the castle, chapel, Nitzbachtal and beautiful views of Pfächen and paths of all kinds, this circular hiking trail is extremely entertaining. Highly Recommended.
A dream path that also deserves the name. The deceleration begins immediately after crossing the main road. You listen to the Nitz, talk to chickens, hike around the castle ruins. Each stop offers a different perspective. As nature is just waking up in March, we will be back in May
An absolute dream path! We walked it in the opposite direction to the intended direction in very high temperatures and it was just right. Beautiful shady forest paths, always beautiful views of the castle, moderate climbs. At the top of the castle you have beautiful views again, and there are always benches to rest on. Again and again! 🥰
