Obrigensteig

Highlight • Trail

The Obrigensteig Trail is the shortest route from the Elbe to the Schrammsteine.
It is somewhat steeper than the other trails and, in places, leads over steps/stairs
through beautiful nature.

The Schrammsteintor is one of the most stunning rock formations in the entire national park. Towering towering the rocks on both sides above you. Climbers love the steep walls and in good weather you can see them high up and on top of the Schrammsteine.

Schrammstein Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

Because the Schrammsteine are one of the highlights in Saxon Switzerland because of the great panoramic views, it can of course be overcrowded here in summer. In winter, however, comparatively few hikers go here and there are no traffic jams along the narrow paths. The view at dusk is highly recommended. The descent from the Schrammsteinen takes about half an hour, so you should arrive in Postelwitz before it gets dark.

Gratweg in Saxon Switzerland

Highlight • Trail

The ridge path stretches over a longer distance. With a constant up and down it is very entertaining. From this path side paths lead downwards or as short branch paths to views towards the Elbe or north to the Falkenstein and towards the Kirnitzschtal. With a lot of carved steps, iron stairs and railings, it is very easy and safe to walk on.

Here is the descent from the ridge path with iron ladders and stairs in many variations. It leads down to the start of the Wildschützensteig.

Schrammsteine Ridge Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The ridge path can be imagined as a summit cross-section. It goes on well-secured paths and stairs on summit and through gorges. Thus, the ridge path combines a sense of adventure and great panoramic views along the Schrammsteine.

View from the Breite Kluft plateau

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Breite-Kluft-Aussicht is another breathtaking view on the edge of the Malerweg. The view can hardly be missed and is right on the Malerweg. The area offers an ideal place to take a break and soak up the sun. Especially in the afternoon, the low winter sun lets the surroundings appear in a beautiful light. If you stay that long, you should of course feel comfortable hiking in the twilight and have a flashlight with you, especially for the descent to the Schrammstein.

There is not only super-delicious bread, but also home-brewed beer. Had today vegetable pie, slightly warmed with a dip - a dream!

A perfect tour for an afternoon. Not slippery despite the rain in the morning. The start and end are easily accessible by public transport.

Another one-way tour using public transport and the famous "Mobile Guest Card," which allows you to complete almost any tour.

From Postelwitz, the route first takes you over the Obristensteig to the Schrammtor, then over the Wildschützensteig to the Schrammstein viewpoint. Since practically everyone spends an hour there after the climb, you're unlikely to be alone there 😉

The tour is a highlight for me :-) You can easily reach the starting point by bus from the car park in Schmilka in just a few minutes. One section of this tour is only meant to be hiked in one direction, so I recommend hiking the route in just that direction. I can also recommend stopping off in Schmilka …

From P at the Schrammsteinbaude through the Lattengrund to the Schrammsteintor. Schrammstein view via Wildschützenweg. Then ridge path Oberer Terrassenweg. Elbleitenweg. Schmilka. It got hot towards the end but we started at 8 a.m.... It was sooo quiet. Hardly saw anyone 😅😎🤣🌞

The new Komoot is just annoying. Very often it doesn't record in between 😒 does anyone have a tip?

Very nice tour with exceptionally good weather 😉, lots of climbing and ladder passages! And only a little bit crowded 😅

The tour begins at the Postelwitz bus stop. We follow the footpath until we reach the bottom of the tooth in a few minutes. Here we climb the Obrigensteig via numerous stairs (yellow line). At the next fork at the national park information board, we continue straight ahead on the Schrammsteinweg (yellow
