Trail Reviews

Annette
June 25, 2022, "Der nächste Halt ist Hof" Entdeckungen entlang der Bahnstrecke Hof - Leipzig Tour 1

Today I started a longer planned hiking project. I have decided to explore the stops on the Hof - Leipzig railway line. Whenever I rode the train, it occurred to me that I only knew many of the places from driving through them and that I should actually get to know them all better. So today we started with the first station: Hof. I already knew the city itself a bit, but I hadn't been to the park or the botanical garden and I had really missed something - really great.

Yesterday we went to Hof, the Theresienstein public park should also be so beautiful ... Arrival Hbf. Hbf The inside of the old station building was already a show, we went down to the Saale, wow what kind of houses are there, one more colorful than the other. . The Thersienstein Park is huge and we liked it very much, attention it is a very natural park, no short-cut meadows or artistic borders, fountains or the like, but pure nature, with countless birds and everything that is currently growing ... the botanical garden is of course very well maintained and worth a longer visit, the small zoo and the geological park would also have been integrated in the park, but unfortunately we didn't have the time. Hof was really worth a visit, something completely different again.

Since we had to take my nephew to the train station in Hof today, we thought we'd go for a quick walk before he took the train. So we parked near the train station and started our little walk past the skate park in the direction of the Theresienstein public park. Today we were also lucky that the botanical garden was open. From there, our route took us over the Hermann Müller complex to the Labyrinthberg. We had a great view from the observation tower today. We continued past the Eichelbergsee, the Eichelberg quarry and then walked through the old town, where we stopped for a quick break before heading back to the car. Because, as we all know, the train doesn't wait.

Today we explored Hof. First, we walked through the city center, including climbing the town hall tower. Then we made a detour to the Theresienstein Citizens' Park.
