I liked the area so much a few days ago that I just ran the tour again today, this time with Agi and Thomas. Today we saved ourselves the small climb through the forest and parked directly in the large car park at the Buchberg Tower, which can be reached via a narrow dead-end road. The forest in this area is exceptionally beautiful and the forest roads and paths are easy to walk on. For the final stop, we went to the Buchberggrill as usual. We were also lucky with the weather and so we spent nice hours together. @Agi: Nice that you accompanied us 😘. P. S.: The daisy picture is from your beautiful garden 🌻⚘. Refreshment tip: Restaurant Buchberggrill: The Italian restaurant is located in the middle of the forest and has a beautiful, large beer garden. The menu is very varied. Nice for hikers is that the restaurant is open daily from 11:00 a.m. https://g.co/kgs/1hmBeP
Small, beautiful autumn tour, parked at the Buchberggrill Langenselbold. With delicious food afterwards
I have now completed this Spessart trail for the second time and had a great afternoon on the trail. Before or after, you can stop off at the Buchberggrill and have some refreshments.
This hike is perfect if you want to combine a short hike with a nice stop. The path mostly leads over easily walkable, narrow forest paths and soft forest floors. The forest fauna is exceptionally beautiful. The whole thing is topped off by a nice rest stop at the Buchberg Tower, from which you can see as far as Frankfurt when the weather is nice. @Susanne: It was nice with you 😘 Refreshment tip: Restaurant Buchberggrill: The Italian restaurant is located in the middle of the forest and has a beautiful, large beer garden. We were extremely satisfied with the food (in our case tagliatelle with salmon and lamb's lettuce with fried mushrooms 🍄 and chicken). Nice for hikers is that the restaurant is open daily from 11:00 a.m. https://g.co/kgs/1hmBeP
Today we did a nice circular hike to and around the Buchberg Tower. This is where the Spessartspuren and the Spessartbogen come together. There are an incredible number of great forest trails. The path through the Rodenbachtal is always particularly beautiful.
From the parking lot at Burgberg, a short access path leads to the start of the "Buchbergrunde" (Buchberg Loop). The trail initially follows the Spessartbogen long-distance hiking trail over the Ochsenberg to the Käfernberghütte near Oberrodenbach. From there, it descends into the Rodenbach valley and follows the stream to just before Niederrodenbach. The trail then leads back into the forest on a narrow path, crosses a stream, and finally climbs slightly back to Buchberg. spessart-tourismus.de/detail/id=61eebc5b7e8c480c6a968a6c

After the tour at noon I realized at home that I still wanted a little. So I flew to Langenselbold to the Buchberg, because I noticed the new Spessart lane signs repeatedly on various bike tours in the area. It was clear from the previous frequent bike tours in the area that I couldn't explore anything new, but the surroundings of the Buchberg and the Rodenbachtal always delight me. This trail is certainly a varied hiking feast for non-residents. 👍
