Hiking
Impressive distant views, the hilly landscape of the Taunus and a wooded route - this excellent premium hiking trail leads you on a good 16 kilometers along the high villages of Hausen and Fischbach, which were once isolated by the Rheingau Gebück.
The starting point of the circular hike is at the fire brigade in Hausen vor der Höhe. The varied hiking trail is part of the Wisper Trails, a network of 15
Premium hiking trails, half of which are in the Rheingau and half in the Taunus. You hike over the Hauser Berg and on to the Sauerbrunnen in Fischbach. Here you can treat yourself to a refreshing break.
It then continues through the idyllic landscape with great views and soon afterwards along the Fischbach. You follow the river for a while on its journey and can refresh your legs in the Kneipp pool. With fresh energy you cover the last piece to the starting point, where you can enjoy it in the pizzeria in town to finish.

A beautiful tour through forest and field! In Fischbach you can fortify yourself at the food vending machine and fill up the water supplies at the acidulous fountain.
Another whisper trail.💐 I like the trails because they are very well signposted and maintained. They also offer variety in terms of terrain, underground and nature. The Exalted lives up to its name. Beautiful vision 👍
In the Middle Ages, Hausen and Fischbach were among the 15 "Überhöhische Dorfen" (Overhigh Villages), poor towns separated from the more affluent Rheingau by the hills and not yet located in the Einrich region. Hence the name of this Wisper Trail. While the hike also led through forests, it mostly passed through meadows, pastures, and paddocks. Numerous horses and cattle, even in small meadows in the side valleys, dominated the landscape. The trail follows varied terrain, featuring everything from narrow paths through bushes to paved roads. It's essentially downhill to Fischbach, and the return journey is mostly uphill. It's a pure nature hike, with no special or well-known sights. "Der Überhöhische" (Overhigh Villages) is the easternmost Wisper Trail and is one of them because the Fischbach is a tributary of the Wisper. East of Fischbach lies the tributary of the Aar River. Hike duration: approx. 4 hours 30 minutes. Exercise duration: approx. 3 hours 10 minutes. Distance: 16.6 km
And once again I am amazed by the beautiful landscape in the Wispertaunus!!! There were 2 really high-spirited statements today 😂 Barbara (former educator): If a woman works in the crèche for years, she becomes a 🐖. Barbara had messed herself up while eating. Antje: women need to drink a lot when hiking, especially when we talk so much!
Today the hike started at -7°C, but with an absolute blanket of snow. A really great hike, especially in the months when there is a lot of snow. A few highlights today were the fact that I tested my spikes (not quite like crampons, but they go in that direction). I have to say that for the little money the attitude is absolutely great. And highlight number two is that at the end of the hike, just under 2 km before the end, there is a Kneipp bath. I already did the rounds in January and I was wondering whether the water would flow at all today. In fact, everything just froze and I thought the issue was over. Well, I wanted a picture of me on the ice and apparently I ate too much breakfast because the ice gave way and I ended up in the water in full gear. After it was clear that I would no longer have dry feet, I decided to break the rest of the ice and do the lap normally.
To be honest, I would not have believed that we would do another winter hike at the beginning of April 2022. But actually, yesterday we made our way home in front of the height in cold but dry weather, where we tackled the "Überhöheischen", one of the Wispertrails. From Hausen, you head in the direction of Fischbach with wonderful views, then through Fischbach and then back to Hausen by a different route. Despite the snow, the paths were easy to walk on and as I said: the views were great. No wonder that people here also speak of the "Nassau Allgäu". By the way, we found a nice place to take a break at Sauerborn in Fischbach. It was wonderful to sit there in the sun, sheltered from the wind. Like the other Wispertrails, the Überhöheliche did not disappoint!
Today our tour took us to the west of the Taunus on the Wisper Trail - the overly high one. We started in Hausen in front of the height at the parking lot at the fire brigade. The circular hiking trail is well signposted and can't really be missed. So we followed the blue slides over meadows and forests and had the feeling of being in the Allgäu. We then took a break at the Fischbach acid fountain. The well delivers 1.8 liters of mineral water per minute, which is pushed up from underground carbon dioxide deposits. The water has a temperature of 9°C and actually tastes a bit sour. Of course Steffi tried it. On the further way we were surprised by a suspension bridge in the middle of nowhere. All in all a very nice tour that we can only recommend.
