Nice hike, avoid the hottest periods, comfortable shoes and well signposted
Panoramic excursion (SVA path) that starts from the Levanto coast. First you meet some stairs, then you go along a stretch of asphalted road and then you continue on a panoramic path that also crosses a wood. Arriving at the Punta, all 5 towns can be seen from above: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Also on the tip are the remains of the ancient Church of S.Antonio and a more recent building that served as a traffic light for the Navy. If you want, in less than 1 hour you can go down to Monterosso. We preferred to go back to Levanto. We did not encounter any drinking fountains.
Edited because the battery was dead. Partly difficult terrain.
How much we love these panoramic routes overlooking the sea that many of you have requested and suggested, especially in winter! No heat, beautiful light, tranquility. We conclude this way, with the incomparable splendor of the Verde Azzurro trail, a 2024 full of commitments. This time we'll be back soon, we promise! :-P
Beautiful tour with great views. Descent a bit steep but great views and worth it. Monterosso seems to be in the "Lonley Planet" for both the number of Asian and English-speaking young people 😅 Return journey with the regional train (very modern and comfortable, as far as you can tell on 5 km, but at €12.50 it's not exactly cheap either🤣)
Over the coastal path to Levanto and back again across the hill. Unfortunately, I pressed the wrong button in Levanto, so I had to record the tour without going back. It will then be saved as a separate tour...
Today's coastal hike took us from Levanto to Monterosso, the northernmost village of the Cinque Terre. The path continues along the sometimes steep coast, offering wonderful views of the Ligurian Sea.
From Levanto train station, first follow the road over the river bridge, then left and then right through the pedestrian zone to the beach. There, turn left and climb the stairs between the villas, offering picturesque views of the bay. Later, continue uphill past the artist's villa. Unfortunately, you then have to walk along the paved road for a section, and only after the hotel can you turn right onto a footpath that largely runs parallel to the slope. The second long climb leads largely through a shady forest and ends at a jagged cliff overlooking the coast. Later, the path leads past an FAI project that has been unfinished for years and up a gentle incline to a magnificent vantage point overlooking Monterosso and the 5Terre coast. The descent to Monterosso begins very promisingly, with many beautiful viewpoints. Unfortunately, the very impressive, almost unique valley descent between the villas has been made impassable - a pretty penny must have flowed into private pockets for this - and hikers are instead relegated to the dull asphalt road all the way to the town of Monterosso - a real shame!
