The F07 trail is classified as difficult. It features demanding terrain with steep and exposed sections, rocky ribs, slabs, and steep grassy gullies. Some parts are equipped with fixed ropes to assist with navigation, making it unsuitable for those with a fear of heights or beginners.
The trail offers spectacular vistas. From Rocca d'Argimonia, you'll experience a 360-degree panorama stretching across the Po Valley plains and the impressive arc of the Alps, including the majestic Monte Rosa group. There's also a notable View over the Valsessera.
Oasi Zegna is a protected mountain area, but typically, there are no specific permits or entrance fees required for hiking its trails, including the F07. It operates as an "open-air laboratory" focused on harmonious interaction with nature.
Given the trail's difficult classification, including steep, exposed sections and fixed ropes, it is generally not recommended for dogs. The terrain could be challenging and potentially unsafe for pets.
The best time to hike this trail is typically during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn. Winter conditions can add significant challenges, with compact snow on ridges requiring specialized gear and making the already difficult route even more demanding.
While the trail connects Rocca d'Argimonia to Bocchetto Luvera – Sentiero del Rosa, specific parking information for these trailheads is not provided. It's advisable to check local Oasi Zegna resources or Komoot's map for designated parking areas near these starting/ending points.
The diverse natural beauty of Oasi Zegna means you might encounter splendid wild animals, such as chamois, especially in the more secluded areas. The landscape also features rhododendrons and wild blueberries along the grassy crests.
Yes, the route also passes through sections of the Giro di Bielmonte and the Giro dell'Alta Valsessera. Smaller portions also overlap with the Percorso Ciclabile Mera-Bielmonte, Percorso Mountanbike, Anello Mühlhan, and SICAI Ciclo trails.
Absolutely. Key highlights include the summit of Rocca d'Argimonia, the panoramic View over the Valsessera, the Monte Cerchio Ascent, and the Bocchetto Sessera Pass. The trail itself connects to Bocchetto Luvera – Sentiero del Rosa.
Some sections of the F07 trail are equipped with fixed ropes to aid hikers through exposed and steep areas. These are a distinctive feature, providing a semi-technical hiking experience. Hikers should be comfortable with heights and have appropriate gear for such sections.
While specific amenities like cafes or inns directly at the trailheads are not detailed, areas like Bocchetto Luvera and Bocchetto Sessera Pass are known points within Oasi Zegna, and it's common for such passes to have some form of refuge or refreshment point. It's best to check local Oasi Zegna resources for current information on services.
April 26. Oasi Zegna. With the idea of seeing rodents we arrived at the Argimonia crest. Tracked as an intermediate level but I would classify it as difficult ONLY FOR EXPERT HIKERS. I saw at least 3/4 groups not continue and go back. As you can see there are steep and exposed sections. Sure-footedness required. Very beautiful landscape and quite technical track on the cliff. Loop route, 9bis outward to the crest and then return with path 9
