Trail Reviews

Barbara Andrea
August 3, 2024, 📌Capanna Mattia, 2612 mt🇮🇹

📌Mattia Hut, 2612 mt🇮🇹 The Capanna Mattia is located in an incredible naturalistic environment, set in the rocks and was restored by the municipality of Ceto in 1990. Its restoration was dedicated to Mattia Ontani from Ceto, a fighter in the Great War. All around it we find large military remains. Our itinerary: 🅿️ Gaver power station (BS) 🧗🏼‍♀️ Difference in altitude + 1760 m, 23.30 km 📈 We start from the Centrale del Gaver and take path 626 until we reach the Bivacco Casinello di Blumone 2060 m, keeping the same path we arrive at Passo del Termine 2335 m which gives us a magnificent view of the Carè Alto. We go up the mule track which throughout the journey leaves us immersed in the remains of the great war and we reach Cima Listino 2749 m. From here we lose altitude following path 37 until we reach the suggestive Capanna Mattia 2612 m, set in the rocks at times almost camouflaged. 📉 We return on the same route as the outward journey until we reach the crossroads halfway up the mule track which makes us turn onto sent 1 up to Passo di Blumone 2843 m, and then go down to Rif. Tita Secchi 2367 m. Finally, we take path 17 which will take us back to the starting point.

This is a challenging route, both due to the significant elevation gain and the climb over boulders to the Blumone Pass. Don't improvise!
