Watch a breathtaking preview of the Colbricon Lakes and the views along the way in the video I shot! You can find it on YouTube at this link: https://youtu.be/Ayzl5S_x3lg
Very pleasant and easy walk suitable for everyone. Departure in front of Malga Rolle 🏠, just below the pass of the same name where signs indicate both the times and the direction very well. The path is well beaten so snowshoes are not needed...maybe crampons if it freezes 🧊. Just before the chairlift 🚡 some willing person has created an alternative track that passes near a stream and which catapults us into a magical world, surrounded by pine trees 🌲 loaded with snow ❄️ and a blanket of white snow all around. Truly wonderful! We then follow the path which, with its continuous ups and downs, is never boring. In just over half an hour we arrive at Lake Colbricon, an immense expanse of snow and ice. The nearby hut is closed but is so well set in the panorama that it is worth a stop. For those who are not tired, like us, you can also go around the lake, skirting the imposing Mount Colbricon 🏔️ and the small Colbricon🗻 with its choreographic jagged walls. We try a bit of off-piste but we sink to our knees and beyond. It's a shame because there would be many other paths to follow. We therefore return along the same path to Malga Rolle which offers us a sunny break. ☀️⛱️
Family hike starting from Passo Rolle, which can also be traveled with a cross stroller along a well-marked path, with a view of the Pale di San Martino, Cavallazza peak (2,324 m) and Mount Colbricon (2,602 m). Near the second lake it is possible to stop at the Colbricon refuge. The two lakes, located respectively at an altitude of 1,909 m (the smallest) and 1,922 m (the largest), are of glacial origin and are located at the north-eastern end of the Lagorai chain.
