This route was planned by komoot.
Ring route on the CAI path 1060 / 1060a "Strada del Patriarca" which leads from the town of Villa di Villa (Cordignano) to the Parco dei Carbonai and the Monument to the fallen of Col Alt. Some sections (especially downhill) require technical footwear (boots). Caution is recommended in the woods, as in the highest part of the path it is possible to meet MTB cyclists.
Loop that "mostly" follows the path of the Patriarch's path (CAI colors red/white): the departure (tabled) would be elsewhere, but I preferred a place with space to park, from which you reconnect to the path official in minutes. Along the ascent two short detours: one to the Big Bench #190 and another to the Castagneron. Attention is recommended on the last uphill stretch of the path, as it is also used by cyclists who set off in the opposite direction... Once you emerge on the asphalt, turn left, go past the park of the Carbonai, then take the small road right which leads to the Col Alt monument. For the return to the car I chose the direct route and finally the Framos, but there are various alternatives.
09/29/2023: the path, from the start with the beautiful wooden sign just above the village of Villa di Villa to the other wooden sign a little beyond the charcoal burners park, is currently passable without any difficulty (even the grass was recently cut: a heartfelt thank you to whoever did it). The blades do not have an abundance of water during the journey, but the Castagneron looks green and prosperous this year.
