This route was planned by komoot.
For today we have chosen the Porzehütte, which is 1942 meters high, as our destination. Our starting point is again the biathlon center in Obertilliach. We hike a part of the path known to us down the Gailtal and then Zweigen onto the access path to the Porzehütte. The path is signposted as a mountain bike and hiking trail at the same time, but somehow a lot of alpine enthusiasts think that they absolutely have to "hike" here by car. At the first opportunity we turn onto a narrow mountain path and from now on it is sometimes quite steep uphill. Shortly below the Porzehütte we meet the access road again and now there are only a few steps to a hearty goulash soup. Back we take the easier but somewhat longer access road and make a tour around the beautifully situated Klapfsee before we arrive back at the biathlon center and watch the Slovaks during their shooting training.
A very beautiful and recommendable hike to the Porzehütte. If you still have coal on the grill, you can still overcome the last 100 meters of altitude and will be rewarded with a view of Italy.
On the way there, we took the "Shortcut to Klapfsee" trail. It was, of course, steeper 😅
