Unfortunately the Ortler Sky Race was canceled 😢 Then we decided to go for a hike. It went up to 3200m. Great mountain 👍🏻
From Sulden, a climb of around 1,200 meters above sea level via the Kälberalm to Hinteres Schöneck, with magnificent views of the Ortler and Königsspitz. A good hiking trail until just below the summit, then a somewhat more challenging climb through boulder-covered terrain. On the descent to the Düsseldorfer Hütte, you occasionally have to use your hands to cross a somewhat tricky, untracked gravel field with rockfall. In the final part of the descent, about 400 meters before the valley, we encountered a severe, rather sudden thunderstorm.
